*Andrea's POV*
"Well, that's something he hasn't told me about," I say offhandedly.
"Sweetheart, please don't let that affect your relationship with him," Abigail pleaded. "He has been doing remarkably well and I think that it's in great part to you." Abigail had reached over to rest a hand on my shoulder so that she could reassure me even more.
"I'll just talk to him about it later," I tell her.
"I won't mention anything about it," Abigail let out.
I nod my head at her and turn to my bag. I pull out my wallet and decide to buy some ice cream from the parlor nearby.
"Does anyone want any ice cream?" I ask everyone.
"Oh, I'll come to help you carry everything. She has to go to the restroom first," Ashley offered after everyone shouted their ice cream preferences. She grabbed Janette by the hand and proceeded to the restroom. I was about to follow her when I felt a hand touch my waist.
"Hey, do you want me to come with you?" Alexander whispered in my ear. Without turning to face him, I shook my head and replied.
"No, that's fine. Ashley and I can manage."
"Okay, let me give you some money for the ice cream," he pulled away but I quickly turned and grabbed his arm.
"I've got it covered," I argue.
Alexander lets out a sigh and gives me his usual miffed look. "You always have to be difficult about this. You're supposed to let your boyfriend pay for things when you are out together," he rebuffed.
"Well, I'm a young independent woman who can buy her own ice cream," I retorted back.
"Okay," he began as he pulled me closer, "how about whoever makes it to the ice cream parlor first gets to pay?"
"You want to race there?" I asked a bit confused.
"Yup," he popped the p as he spoke against my lips. I let out a small giggle but it was cut short when Alexander quickly pulled away. "Go!" He shouted as he sprinted away from me.
I'll be damned if I let him win me. After my initial shock, I ran after him. I had to admit that it was hard because my feet would sink into the sand every time I took a step forward. I was about two feet behind him and the sidewalk leading to the ice cream parlor was only six feet away.
I decided that there was only one way to stop him. I built up all my strength and lunged at his back.
He was completely unprepared for that because he stumbled a little and I used that to my advantage, making myself into dead weight. We tumbled onto the warm sand. Once I had him pinned to the floor I gave him a crushing kiss and once he was distracted with that, I crawled over him and began running to the ice cream shop.
The ice cream parlor had a little window where you could order your ice cream if you just wanted to grab it quickly and then head to the beach again. I was still eight feet away from the window but I knew that I would win. Victory would be mine! I was so close now and there was no way Alexander could stop me now. When I was arm’s length away from the window, I stopped and was about to order when an arm snaked around my waist and pulled me away.
I let out a yelp and struggled a bit but I was placed behind someone's back. A very tall tan, muscular, annoying back. A very handsome back I had to admit.
Alexander turned to throw me a satisfied smirk over his shoulder. "Sorry love, but I do believe that I won."
"What the hell? I was here first!" I yelled at him.
