The mission continues!

Ayame's pov

I opened my eyes and looked into the teal eyes of Gaara. Had I fallen asleep? "Gaara?" I said. "Did I fall asleep?"

Gaara nodded. "You fell asleep an hour ago."

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked.

"You look so peaceful when you're sleeping." Gaara replied.

"Is that a compliment?" I asked him.

He nodded. "Thank you, then." I said with a smile. I sat up and we waited for everyone else to show up. The first one to wake up was my dad. He sat down next to me. "Has anything happened last night?" he asked.

I shook my head. "No."

"Did you fall asleep?" he asked me.

"An hour before I woke up again." I replied. "but for the rest, no."

"Let's go! I'm ready to go!" I heard Gai shout, followed by a lot of irritated groans. Gai ran out of the room and stood in the hallway.

"It's 4:30 in the morning, you idiot!" Hitoshi yelled. "I think people want to sleep a little bit more!"

"I guess Kazuki and Kazuo weren't exaggerating then, Gai-sensei really wakes up early..."

Kazuki and Kazuo walked out of his room and they walked towards me. Kazuo looked like he could break down any minute and Kazuki looked really calm. "You look worse than me." I told Kazuo.

"Thanks." he said sarcastically. "What a compliment.

Kazuki smiled. "It's true, though."

Temari came out of the room, rubbing her eyes. "So how did it go?"

"I fell asleep the last hour, but nothing happened."

"I'm glad to hear that." Asuma-sensei said. I noticed Naruto was dragging Shikamaru out of their room, who was protesting that waking up early was a drag.

Tenzou-sensei had broken down the house and we walked along. I walked next to Gaara and his siblings. I suddenly couldn't control my legs. I glanced at Kankuro, who was using chakra strings. "Kankuro, don't you dare." I told him. He removed the strings and I could control my legs again. "Thank you."

Gaara glanced at Kankuro too, so did Temari. "What were you trying to do in the first place?" Temari asked him.

Kankuro shrugged. "You know." he replied.

"But I don't." I said. "So why won't you tell me?"

"I don't think you want to know." Temari told me. "You would want to kill us!"

I sighed. "Never mind." I said. "I'm just hoping you weren't trying that."

I noticed Sasuke was glaring at me. I was wondering why, he looked so angry. Or it was just his act to keep his image intact. He could be nice, he just wasn't showing it.

"What's wrong?" Gaara asked.

I shrugged. "Never mind. It's nothing to worry about."

After a while, we took a break. Shikamaru fell asleep immediately and I had to admit I was getting pretty sleepy as well. I decided to lay down sonewhere to see or I could get some sleep. I ended up in a tree. I was pretty far away from the group, where the sensei's were discussing the plan, Naruto was being hyper, which caused Sakura to be angry at him. At the same time, both her and Ino were fighting over Sasuke.

I eventually jumped out of the tree too and met up with Neji and Tenten.

"Hey Ayame." Tenten said. "Are you just as tired as I am?

"Hey Tenten, hey Neji." I replied. "And yes, I'm just as tired."

"LET'S MOVE ON ALREADY!" Naruto yelled.

"YOU'RE RIGHT, NARUTO, WE SHOULDN'T LET THE POWER OF YOUTH GO TO WASTE!" Gai replied.

Kazuo sweatdropped. "The sooner we'll get there, the sooner we'll be able to sleep."

Everyone was silent the rest of the way. Luckily, we didn't run into any trouble before we reached the water. We went to get a boat, but no one was there.

"Great, now we have to wait!" Kiba stated.

"Where are we going to stay? It's almost dark." Youko asked. "I doubt anyone will come before tomorrow."

Choji nodded. "And are we going to eat somewhere? I'm hungry!"

Asuma-sensei sighed. "Like Youko said, it's getting late and I don't think we can find a restaurant."

"Let's head back to the forest, I'll make us a place to sleep." Tenzou-sensei said.

"Good idea, Tenzou." dad said. We headed towards the forest again, under loud protests of Naruto and Choji, who both wanted to sleep in a bed.

I walked next to Kazuki and Kazuo. We were walking behind our sensei. When we found an open spot, Tenzou-sensei made a house of wood and we all went inside. Gaara took watch with Naruto, since they needed the least sleep.

"HEY! WHY DO I HAVE TO STAY AWAKE?" Naruto yelled.

"I'm sorry, Naruto, but you have the most energy out of everyone here." Kazuki said.

We all said good night to each other and went to sleep. The night was peaceful, without any problems, even our prisoner Hitoshi wasn't making a problem or being sarcastic.
