Ayame's pov

I opened my eyes and saw multiple pairs of eyes staring at me. The green eyes of both Kazuki and Kazuo, Sakura's emerald eyes, the onyx eyes of Sasuke and one onyx eye of my dad. "SHE'S AWAKE!" Kazuki yelled and I heard voices. I sat up and looked around. There were more people in the room than I thought. Gai and his team, Tenzou-sensei and a woman with blue hair. I was in the hospital, sitting near a window.

"What happened? Are Naruto and Gaara okay?" I asked. Everyone was surprised that I asked or Gaara was okay. "And who are you?" I asked the strange woman.

"My name's Youko." she said. "I'm from the hidden Mist village. I came here for the Chunin exams with my team."

"She's a good friend of mine." Tenzou-sensei added. "And I'll tell you what happened."

"No, I will!" Kazuki yelled.

"You weren't even there, Sakura was unconcious before me and Naruto isn't here. Maybe Kazuo or Sasuke could tell me what happened after I... fainted from exhaustion." I said while looking at the two boys.

"I was out of chakra and..." Kazuo started. Was he embarrased about something? "I fainted because of it too."

"I'll tell you." Sasuke said. Everyone besides Sasuke and my dad left.

Sasuke was in the middle of his explanation, when I sensed someone's chakra. I turned my head towards the window and saw Gaara.

"What are you doing here?" Sasuke groaned.

"I came to return these." Gaara replied while pulling out my twin blades. "You lost them near the tower, in the Forest of Death." he said.

"You came back for them?" I asked.

"You were sad because you lost them, I wanted to cheer you up." he replied.

"Thank you, Gaara." I said with a light smile. "That's really nice of you."

"I'll get going, we need to go back to Suna." he said before turning away.

"Wait!" I exclaimed while throwing of the blànkets, ignoring Kakashi's and Sasuke's protests. "I want to say goodbye to Temari and Kankuro too."

"Ayame, don't..." dad said, but he couldn't stop me. I quickly got dressed properly and disappeared with Gaara. We appeared near the gates and we walked for the rest. When we were there, we saw Temari, Kankuro and their sensei, Baki.

"Ayame?" Temari said. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the hospital?"

"I'm fine, Temari, but thanks for the worry. I'm here because I heard you were going to leave from Gaara and I wanted to say goodbye before you left."

Kankuro nodded. "Thank you for everything." he said.

I shook my head. "If you're talking about that kiss, you should thank my teammates."

"Tell them I said thank you then." he replied.

I nodded. "As soon as I have forgiven them, I will."

Gaara turned to me and kissed me. "Thank you." he said. "Thank you for everything."

My cheeks were turning red. I tried to ignore the aw's of Temari, Kankuro and even Baki. "Why do you all make that sound?" I asked. "It's kinda embarrassing."

"Because you two are cute together." Temari said. "Don't think I don't know what that blushing means."

I wanted to switch to another subject, but I decided not to. I kissed Gaara on his cheek before saying goodbye. This time, Gaara's cheeks turned red. "I'll see you later." I said. "I would love to visit Suna some day anyway."
