Ayame's pov

When we arrived in Konoha, the first thing I noticed were Kozetsu and Izumo sleeping.  We had left Gaara, Temari, Kankuro, Youko, Sora, Yahashi and Yuri behind to go to their own village.

When we woke them up, we heard footsteps behind us. The footsteps belonged to Lee. "Lee-san!" Sakura said. "You fully recovered already!"

"Almost, I will be able to start training again tomorrow!" Lee replied happily.

"That's great!" Gai-sensei said with tears in his eyes. "You'll be able to let the power of youth shine."

"Oh, you're back!" Izumo blended in.

"Let's report to Lady Tsunade immediately!" Gai-sensei exlaimed.

"Gimme a break, I'm exhausted..." I muttered but Gai-sensei lifted me onto his back. "This really isn't necessary!" I said but he already was running off.

* * * * *

Gai-sensei put me down, but I fell down almost immediately. Because of the trip, I was really dizzy and I couldn't even stand up straight. When the rest came, they seemed surprised I was laying on the floor. "I was dizzy..." I muttered.  "You can guess why..."

We reported everything, including the whole beast and Orochimaru problem. I thought back to when I was alone with Gaara on the way back. He wanted to tell me something, but couldn't because he was interrupted by Naruto.

*Flashback*

"Are you okay?" Gaara asked me.

I nodded. "It hasn't been bothering me for now... I should be fine. He isn't very... social. All I know is that it's a he."

"Ayame... there's something I want to tell you..." Gaara muttered.

"What is it?" I asked, surpised.

"You see... I..." Gaara kept muttering. I was surprised by the way he was talking, and that his face was red. I've never seen him acting like this... "I--"

"GAARA! AYAME! COME HERE!" Naruto yelled. I grabbed Gaara's hand and pulled him with me.

"What is it, Naruto?" I asked.

"Here's the spot where we have to split up." Temari said. "And Gaara, why is your face so red?"

"It's nothing..." Gaara said.

"Please visit Suna soon, Ayame." Kankuro said. "We hope to see you soon."

"I'll hear what you have to say once I visit Suna." I told Gaara. "Or is it very important?"

"It can wait..." Gaara said. His face was still red, much to Temari's and Kankuro's pleasure.

*flashback end*

"Ayame?" Lady Tsunade asked me.

"Huh?" I replied.

"Would you mind telling me about that beast?" she asked me.

"Not at all. I don't know a lot, but I'll tell you everything once I know more."

Lady Tsunade nodded. "I see. Dismissed!" We all left and went home. After that long and exhausting mission, all we wanted was to go home and sleep.

A week later

"Wake up!" dad told me. I got out of bed and got dressed. When I came downstairs, I saw there was a message from Lady Tsunade. She wanted to see me and dad. I quickly ate breakfest and left to see the Hokage.
