The fifth Hokage

Kazuki's pov

After we told the Council, Gai-sensei just left. Kazuo, Ayame and I decided to take it easy for a few days. Ayame often visited Kakashi-sensei, hoping he would be awake.

A day later, Gai-sensei came back with an unconcious Sasuke. "What happened?!" Ayame asked.

"Itachi again." Gai-sensei replied. "He used the same technique against him."

"How did you get away?" Kazuo asked.

"I was lucky Jiraya was there. Soon after I arrived, Itachi and his partner fled. He told me to bring Sasuke back to the village, while he would keep searching for that woman with Naruto."

Ayame nodded. "Well, I'm glad you're okay." she said. "Let's bring Sasuke to the hospital."

We went to the hospital, Gai-sensei carrying Sasuke. The woman who sat at the desk put Sasuke in a room and told us to leave. We went to another room instead. Gai-sensei wanted to pay Lee a visit, so did Ayame.

Lee was sitting up in his bed, staring at the blankets. "Lee!" Kazuki yelled. Lee looked up and smiled.

"You came to visit! I haven't seen you in a while, Ayame!" Lee said.

"Well, I've--"

"I think she's in denial that it's her boyfriend's fault you're laying here." Kazuki said. "Right, Ayame?"

Ayame's eyebrow twitched and a vein appeared on her forehead. "You seem to have talent for bringing up the wrong subjects at the wrong time." she said sarcastically with an angry tone underneath.

"Ayame, calm--"

"And you're also to be blamed." she said. "Although you're not talking about it all the time."

"Wait, you're dating who?!" Gai-sensei yelled. "Is that true?!"

"Well, I don't think there's a point in hiding it, Kazuki would probably tell you instead." Ayame replied calmly. "My answer is yes, but I fell in love with him before I knew what he's done to Lee."

"But still, he could've killed you! You could've been harmed!" Gai-sensei exlaimed.

"I'm fine." Ayame replied surprisingly calm. "He's always kind to me, says I make him feel calm and he's cute in some ways."

Gai-sensei remained silent. Lee spoke up. "If you love him, I'm happy for you that you found love!" he exlaimed with tears streaming down his face.

"Passionate as always." Kazuo said. "That's how I know you."

Suddenly, the door opened and Sakura came in with a flower. She was surprised to see us in the room. "What are you doing here?" she asked us.

"Just visiting a friend." Ayame replied. "Is that flower for Lee?" Sakura nodded. "That's very nice of you." Ayame continied.

"Well, he did save my life in the Forest of Death." she replied. "This is the least I can do for him."

"Have you visited Sasuke yet?" Ayame asked. "Although I highly doubt he'll be awake."

She nodded. "I wonder what happened to him..." she murmured.

"He'll be fine!" Gai-sensei said. "That woman Naruto is looking for with Jiraya is a great medical ninja!" he said. "His training will also go better since I gave him a present!"

"You gave him a jumpsuit like yours?" Kazuo asked. "How would that help?"

"That jumpsuit does miracles when it comes to training!" Gai-sensei exlaimed. We all sweatdropped, besides Gai and Lee.
