"Dude!" A random guy slurred as he came up to me and slapped my back making me spill some of the drink that was in my cup. I turned and glared at him. I had never seen him before in my life and I was wondering who had brought him.
It was the last day of the year and I wanted to throw one of those cliché New Year's Eve parties and I had to hand it to myself; it was pretty amazing.
"This is the best party ever!" The guy burped and I just nodded at him. This was one of the reasons I hated throwing these kinds of parties; there were always strangers wandering around my apartment and the mere thought of it made me extremely uncomfortable but I was too drunk to even ask him who he came with.
I was about to answer him when I saw Adria making her way over to me. She had a scowl on her face and I knew she had probably gotten in another fight with Ashton. Those two were one of the weirdest couples I ever came across and most of the fight they got were over petty little things but I remember Ashton telling me one time that he liked fighting with her because the makeup sex was always amazing so I guess he'd be getting some whenever this fight blew over.
"Ashton isn't here and I haven't seen him all night." I said when she reached me. She scoffed and took the drink from my hand, finishing it.
"I don't wanna hear about that asshole." She muttered reaching behind me to grab another cup from the table I was leaning against. So I guess my assumptions were right, she was pissed at Ashton.
"What did he do now?" I asked as I prepared myself for yet another sob story from her about what a dick her boyfriend could be.
"He's a jackass. That's what." She said as she finished another drink. I put a hand over her's to stop her from getting another one. I was a bit tipsy but I was sober enough to not allow her to get wasted; that would only get Ashton pissed at me.
"What was the fight about this time?"
"It was stupid but Ashton was just being a dick about it." She complained running a hand through her long, pitch black hair. "I mean you can only get so much milk!"
"I'm sorry, did you say milk?" I asked because I was almost certain I heard her wrong. I mean they fought over some really frivolous things but this had to be at the top of the list.
"And now this stupid long hair is annoying the fuck out of me! Ugh!" She said glancing at my wrists to see if she could probably use one of my bracelets to tie her hair up.
"Don't even think about it. Why don't you just cut it if it's such a pain? I don't get you; I know you're not crazy about having it this long. I just don't get why you insist to keep it this long."
"Ashton likes it." She shrugged taking her hair and bringing it over her right shoulder. "And you'd think, he'd be more sensitive about things like this? I mean; how many times are we gonna have to replace the milk? It smells awful when it's spoilt."
"So... you and Ashton had a fight about... milk?" I asked just to make sure we were both on the same page.
"Yes! Aren't you listening?!"
"I am listening!" I argued as I felt myself sobering up. "I just don't think I understand what exactly what this was about. But I'm gathering it has something to do with spoilt milk?"
"It's not just the milk! It's everything he does. I mean; is it so hard to just put the milk back when you're done with it because I don't think it's that hard. I don't think you have to use all your brain cells to just put the fucking milk back in teh fridge. I mean; we both know the apartment gets really hot yet you insisting on leaving the milk on the island-"
