"You've seen my descent. Now watch my rising." - Rumi

On October 17, 1989, the Selena album was released for the Tejano world to listen to. It peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Regional Mexican Albums, Selena's first entry on a national music chart.

Just like Chris had said it. The album was supposed to be an introduction to the Latin Music Market for the future English-language crossover.

The album not only peaked at number 7 but also increased Selena's popularity in the music industry. Multiple stores had to restock CDs of her album.

Although the band was proud of their accomplishment. They still couldn't get an English album out, something that disappointed Selena since it was her dream to get one.

Capitol EMI still wanted her to increase her fanbase even more for that to happen.

The whole group has started to plan for the next album and its release date, not to mention its name, to which Selena instantly thought of one.

Ven Conmigo

They were in no hurry to start on it since they had the beginning of 1990 to do, but that didn't stop A.B who was still trying to figure out the melody of the song he keeps hearing in his head, to start writing lyrics for a couple of songs.

Because of Selena's popularity and her rise in the music industry. Gigs have become more frequent in Texas, which they found exciting and exhausting.

Alex was happy with how well the band was coming along and just seeing in person how Selena is starting to climb higher and higher made it even better.

His nervousness about playing in front of people has left him and instead it felt like another day in the office for him to be on a stage to play his guitar.

A.B's hand has healed a long time ago and now he's back to playing bass, Alex is still surprised how they need two guitarists in the band, but, he isn't complaining or anything. Instead, he is grateful for having this unreal moment with him.

Winter was upon Corpus Christi, although it didn't snow, unfortunately, that didn't stop the wind from making it, even more, colder than what it originally was.

A month before the 90s began, something was beginning to stress Alex out.

"You know what I enjoy about winter? The part where we get to chill without worrying about another gig since people don't go outside during the cold days," Joe said to the rest of the band.

The guys, except for Abraham, Marcella, Selena, and Suzette were in Big Bertha enjoying the time of their lives as the cold air hit the windows making them freeze instantly.

"I know right, we get to have a month off, at least peace from the constant playing," Pete responded.

A.B took a sip from his coffee. "It's pretty rare for us to take a break, you all know how my dad is when it comes to music."

"Mr. Quintanilla needs to relax, life isn't always going to be about music," Ricky replied.

"Say that to him when he's here," A.B said, chuckling when Ricky started to rapidly shake his head.

A.B then turned to look at Alex and Chris who were too busy playing blackjack on the opposite side of them.

"You guys want a nice cup of coffee?" A.B asked.

"Hold up, we are currently playing here," Alex responded, his eyes not leaving the cards.

"What about you, Chris?" A.B then glanced at Chris who had a frustrated look on his face.
