It was a normal day in Avengers tower. No missions, no pranks, no arguments, and no strange occurances. Well, until now.
Clint had been in the vents as usual and he had caught you watching anime as you were singing along to the opening track like your life depended on it. He had threatened to tell the whole team about it and now you were chasing him through the halls as he laughed.
"Barton!" You were yelling as you watched him hurry into the elevator. "Come here now and I promise I won't break both your legs when I get to you!"
"Catch me if you can, (l/n)!" He had shouted back as the doors shut in your face.
"Damn." You muttered, looking up. It looked like Clint was going down to the lounge where you two usually hung out for trash talk.
You looked around for a fast way down and your eyes lit up when you saw the fire escape. Your feet carried you forward until you opened the door and came onto the balcony. The stairs would take too long anyway.
You simply smirked and used your earth magic to conjure the strongest vines you could, tying one end around the balcony bannister and securing the other around your waist.
"Yolo." You then said to yourself, standing on the edge before jumping.
The air rushed past you like a shot of adrenaline and the pure thrill of it all made you smile. Unfortunately though, it had to be cut short when you found the floor you were after.
You quickly yanked on the vine around you until you came to an abrupt halt, gently knocking into the window. You took a relieved breath before looking to see which room you were facing. Once pressed up against the glass, you found a very amusing sight.
It was the kitchen. Inside were Bruce and Natasha, making themselves some lunch, but both were now staring open mouthed at you as they saw you hanging in front of the window with no proper safety precautions whatsoever.
"What are you doing?!" Bruce mouthed.
You smiled as innocently as you could. "Looking for someone!"
Then you saw him. Clint had cut through the kitchen and was racing for the main lounge. Your smile dropped as you yelled out a bunch of curses after Clint who just grinned and barged through the next door.
You waved a quick goodbye to Bruce and Natasha, placed both feet on the glass before swinging to the side and using the momentum to run across the building. When you passed the wall, you jumped into the air and smashed through the glass, rolling on the floor when you got inside.
You then looked at the shattered glass around you and pulled back your lips at the sight. "Tony will murder me."
"Damn right he will." Clint agreed from the back of the room.
Your head shot up and you quickly got back on your feet. "Stay."
Clint raised a brow at the instruction. "Do I look like a dog?"
You shrugged with a smile as he started to shake his head and laugh. Then he made a run for it.
You acted on instinct and performed a perfect somersault over a couch and landed on the ground before jumping up on the dining table and doing several cartwheels moments before you jumped off and landed gracefully on the carpet.
"Ha!" You yelled, stopping Clint where he stood.
He stood there in shock. "I have never seen you use that move before. Where the hell did it come from?"
You dramatically flipped your hair over your shoulder. "A year's training in Symarkia."
Then both of your looks faded to ones of pain as Natasha appeared and grabbed both of you by the ears.
"What is going on?" She asked in a stern tone. "Clint, why are you tearing through this place like your ass is on fire? (Y/n), why were you hanging off the side of the building?"
"Care to explain, (y/n)?" Clint offered with a smirk.
You tried to kick him in the shin but Natasha used her own leg to stop the blow. "(Y/n)?"
You let out a very low growl and rolled your eyes. "I was watching something that I didn't want you guys to know about and this asshat threatened to tell everyone. I'm just protecting my personal life."
"Please tell me it wasn't porn."
"No!" You screeched as Clint burst into a fit of giggles. "God, no. It was... Anime."
"And what's so bad about that?"
You looked at Natasha in surprise. "You're not going to judge me?"
"No." The assassin shrugged flippantly. "I watch it too sometimes. So do Tony and even Thor. It's no big deal."
Clint's laughter faded into a curious expression. "Really?"
"Yeah." Natasha then released her hold on both of your ears and crossed her arms. "Is that really what all this is about?"
"(Y/n)'s the one who was so protective." Clint spoke up.
"You were the one who threatened to spill my secrets." You shot back.
Natasha sighed and stood in front of you again. "Say sorry. Both of you."
"Okay." You stepped up first. "Clint, I apologise for being so defensive and chasing you through the tower."
He grinned. "Thank you. And I am sorry, (y/n), for making fun of what you like to watch in your spare time."
"What have we learned from this experience?" Natasha then asked.
"That I need to refrain from judging people."
Natasha nodded and turned on you but you just shrugged. "Come on."
"Well, this morning I learned that if you forget your wallet at the grocery store the cashier will pay for your items personally and even give you his number to make sure you get home okay." You said with a sweet smile while Natasha facepalmed and Clint laughed.
"Sorry, (y/n), that's just you."
