A/N: As requested :)
Sokovia.
It wasn't exactly the most peaceful place on earth but it was still home. You were born and raised there and you wouldn't change it for the world. Not even when the bots attacked.
You were walking with your best friend when it happened, when the screams started.
"What was that?" She asked you with wide eyes.
"I have no idea." You replied, holding her close. "Maybe that crazy dog got loose again?"
And, as an answer to your question, something very fast flew by, almost taking you out. The both of you yelled in shock and backed up. You'd only seen something similar on the news and in papers or graffitied on the city walls.
"Was that Iron Man?!" (B/f/n) shrieked.
But it wasn't.
"No..." You backed up, pulling her with you. "That's something else."
And, true enough, the thing turned around mid-flight and you realized it was an iron legion bot. Again, you'd only ever seen them on the news before, and to see them this close and in person? It was terrifying. They didn't look right. Corrupted, even.
"(Y/n)!" Your friend yelled, trying to pull you away.
"Go!" You yelled. "Go, go, go!"
As the bot flew at the pair of you a second time you took off, running down the street with the rest of the screaming civilians. As you got deeper into the city, things got worse.
Fires had started breaking out, the bots terrorizing people and destroying everything in sight. Some people lay injured and others lay dead. Car alarms were wailing and you could scarcely believe what was happening anymore. Sokovia was always a war zone but this was too much.
And then, like a miracle, the heroes actually arrived.
They got into the fight so quickly it seemed as if they'd been there all along. You were so busy staring you didn't feel (b/f/n)'s hand slip out of yours until it was too late.
You called her name but she was lost in the sea of panicked others. Before long, you were alone. You cursed and spun around until you were dizzy in an attempt to find her.
"(B/f/n)!" You cried. "(B/f/n), please!"
You fell forward when someone shoved past and you landed on the sidewalk, the concrete tearing some of the skin on your palm. You did your best to get up but it was hard with the feeling of fear and anxiety rooting you to the spot.
Your heart damn near stopped when another bot stopped and turned on you. It raised its armored hand to you but before it could kill you, a blue and silver blur picked you up and you somehow ended up three blocks away in mere seconds. The blur, which turned out to be a very attractive man, gently set you down.
"Are you okay?" He asked, concerned.
You stared longer than you should before nodding. "I'm fine."
"You need to leave the city."
"Yeah, I assumed." You said, breathless as a few more bots flew above. "Thank you..."
"Pietro."
"I'm (y/n)."
"Be careful, (y/n)." He winked before taking off in another blur.
You stared at the spot he once stood wondering how someone could be so fast. You hadn't seen him on the side of heroes before which seemed impossible considering how good looking he was. Perhaps he was new.
"Oh!" You gasped when he appeared in front of you again.
"Call me sometime." He told you, then simply vanished yet again.
You frowned, wondering how you were supposed to do that when you only knew a name, but felt a little itch on your hand. You looked down and scoffed in amusement and disbelief upon seeing a number scribbled in pen on the back of your hand.
Maybe you would call him.
