Holding my (favorite/book) in my hands determinedly, I looked around, trying to find the perfect place to read it in one go without interruptions. To avoid interruptions, I must avoid human contact altogether. Bidding my dormmates bye, I left for the library.
It was my best choice. No noisy students would be there and I could just sit at the corner of the room. I stepped inside the library, greeting Madam Pince. I walked straight to my secret hidden spot in the library which usually remained empty and quiet.
But, today wasn't my day. My spot was occupied by Lily Evans, who smiled at me sheepishly, she was getting away from Potter. Not that I blame her. His whole gang was annoying, loud, and distracting. I could have sat beside her but I didn't because where Lily was, Potter was not far behind.
Sighing, I walked out. Maybe, I could go to the courtyard. Snape and a few other goons were hanging out there so I abandoned that and walked farther away until I remembered. I could go to the Whomping Willow! No student would dare to come there.
It was actually very harmless if you knew what exactly to do. You had to approach it very calmly, almost like approaching a hippogriff and, pressing the knot on its trunk.
I stepped gradually towards it, slowly raising my hand to the knot on its trunk, and a few seconds later, I dropped my hand smiling. I sat on the ground, leaning on its trunk, and opened my book.
I sped through (favorite/book), absorbing all the words. My eyes were sore from the intense workout, yet the book grasped my attention like no other. I refused to blink, afraid that I'd lose my place on the page if I did.
When I reached the part where a character died, my eyesight became blurred. I cursed the author as I wiped my eyes, but the tears kept coming.
"Why must you do this to me, author!?" I said, wiping my tears off.
I continued to read until I felt tingling on my legs. I looked down to see that a few sugar ants managed to climb onto me.
I threw my book and jumped up, smacking my legs to get rid of the annoying insects. "I just can't read anywhere without distractions, now can I?" I groaned.
"Do you mind if I distract you?" a voice interrupted my moment.
I looked up to see Sirius Black, his hair up in a bun, peering down at me with a smirk that turned my knees to jelly, not that he needed to know that.
He leaned against one arm on a tree, holding the book that I had thrown earlier in his other hand.
I fisted my hands, angered by his appearance. I had gone into the woods to avoid people like him, yet they show up anyway. I already had to endure his bullshit in Transfiguration when he sat behind me and kept laughing with James Potter and now here too!?
"Yes, I do mind," I answered. "Do you mind giving me back my book?"
"Yes, I do mind," he smirked again. "What are you doing here?"
