"It was a mistake! I'm sorry! It's not what it looks like!"
Those words rang through Y/n's head as she walked through the streets of muggle London, her tears steadily running down her face. She tried to take deep breaths and make her tears stop but one look at the engagement ring on her finger, and she had a new jet of tears running down her face.
How could he do that? She trusted Ben. She gave him her everything and hell, she was going to walk the aisle with him tomorrow and he does this! She had just returned home from her bachelorette party which had ended quicker than anticipated and wanted nothing more than a few cuddles from her soon-to-be husband but instead, she found him on top of another girl.
Just last week she was with him, deciding on the flavour of the cake for the wedding. Everything was so perfect. Maybe a little too perfect. They had both imagined their future. Together. Right? Or maybe it had been just her picturing a beautiful life ahead while he stood behind her.
She shook her head slightly, trying not to think about that. She didn't want to go home to tell everyone that her wedding was cancelled. At least, not yet. She wasn't ready to face everyone's faces full of pity yet. A million thoughts ran in her head and she didn't know where she was or what she was going to do.
She just had to find a place to stay the night. She wasn't going back home. Well, it wasn't even her home anymore. Just his. She walked faster, her head turning from some of the alcohol she had at what was supposed to be her bachelorette party.
Her head was too muddled for her to concentrate to apparate to someplace else. So she just walked on and on, wiping the tears furiously ran down on her face. At one point due to her heavy broken heart and tear-filled eyes, she walked straight into a stranger.
She managed to get out a quick apology before continuing on her directionless walk.
Sirius watched her walk away from him curiously. He wanted to turn away and leave but it didn't seem right. She was crying and alone and she probably wouldn't be safe on the streets.
He ran to catch up with her. "Excuse me, miss!"
Y/n walked on, assuming he was calling someone else. But, he soon caught up with her, stepping in front of her, a gentle expression on his face.
"Miss, are you alright?" She wiped away the last of her tears, raising her eyes to meet his grey ones as her sadness turned into anger. Anger at Ben. Anger at herself for letting her walls down and trusting Ben. It had taken some time for him to make her stop hating the idea of love and then to make her love him. But he had succeeded. And look where that got her now.
"Yeah, I'm completely alright! I spent the last two months planning for my wedding only to come home and find my fiance cheating on me! And then he proceeded to tell me it was a mistake as if I didn't just witness him playing tonsil tennis with someone else! Now I don't know where to go because I can't face anyone in this state and currently I'm ranting about my life to a complete stranger! If that sounds like I'm okay, then I'm completely okay!"
