"Hello, Oliver," I greeted, approaching him, my essays in my hands. He appeared busy, all around him were textbooks, parchments, and quills.

He let out a grunt to acknowledge my presence.

"Need some help?" I asked, taking a seat next to him. The common room was now emptying, seeing as it was 11 at night.

"No," he said.

"I could give you my essays for reference, this one's supposed to be 15 more inches long," I said, pointing to an empty essay in front of him.

"Just leave, okay! You're not needed here. No one wants you around!" he stood up, his voice becoming louder by the word. That hurt. For someone with as much insecurity as me, hearing that from your best friend isn't ideal.

"Fine," I said emotionlessly, suppressing my tears from forming, standing up, and leaving with my books in my arms. Merlin, what crawled up his arse?

Turns out, it was that morning's Quidditch match which Gryffindor had lost due to Potter taking a fall because of the dementors. Whatever the reason was, it wouldn't excuse him for being such an arse to his best friend.

There was only a month of school left, so the remaining time, I didn't see Oliver around much. Not that I actively avoided him, but I just didn't talk to him. The finals were approaching anyways, so I spent most of my time studying, mostly in my dorm where I felt most comfortable.

The stressful finals finally ended and it was the day we had to leave Hogwarts. Forever. I looked at the castle for one last time before boarding the carriage.

Then the nostalgia hit me. Hard. I'd basically grown up here. I had met amazing people. Had my first boyfriend. My first heartbreak. My first best friend. Speaking of whom, I got reminded of the words he'd said to me a mere month ago. He didn't try to seek me out to apologize even once. It was like we hadn't been best friends for the past six years.

I wanted him to apologize. I wanted to talk to him again. I didn't want to end my time at Hogwarts on bad terms with my best friend who also happened to be my crush. With that thought swirling around my mind, I boarded the train with my dormmates, occasionally joining in their conversations. And that's how my final journey on the Hogwarts express went.

I got off the train, greeting my mum from afar, gesturing her to wait right there, as I said goodbye to my friends. My eyes slightly blurred with tears as I gave each of my dormmates a huge goodbye hug making plans to meet up in the future.

As I turned towards my mum, a hand was placed on my shoulder, causing me to pause and jump. I turned behind to find myself face to face with none other than Oliver Wood.

"What do you want?" I asked, my voice cooler than I'd intended it to be. He stood there, wordless and I turned back again to leave," If you don't have anything to say, I'm going."
