You walked through the crowd, waiting for the students to go to Hogsmeade so you could check on your top-secret secret project. About an hour of waiting later, most of the students had cleared out except the first and second years and you walked sneakily to the girls' bathroom on the second floor.
Hoping you weren't followed, you looked around and took a deep breath before channelling the Salazar Heir in you. After you'd met up in the summer, Hermione (your one and only best friend) told you all about what went down in the secret chamber in the second year and while she expected you to be horrified or terrified, you were more intrigued.
It just felt as though the chamber was calling to you and you had sneaked down to the bathroom at the beginning of this year, in hopes of getting the chamber to open. The moment you had looked at the snake engraving on the tap, you spoke in smooth parseltongue, that's all it took for the chamber to open.
The first few days, you had been wary of entering it but soon you overcame your wariness, you had walked on, jumping right into the empty space where the sinks had moved away from. You had explored the chamber, bit by bit, slowly. There were almost no books explaining any details about this chamber so you took your own time, carefully.
Soon, it became a practice and you got in and navigated your way through with ease, just like today.
You were excited to go into the chamber today, and you jumped right in. Landing with a soft thud, you stood up, dusting yourself off as you walked into the well-lit chamber. Finally going to the corner of the chamber, you found just what you'd come here for. The egg.
The Basilisk egg, to be precise.
You smiled at the thought of it hatching soon and you hoped it would survive. When you'd first arrived at the chamber, you had found an egg and on further examination, it turned out to be a Basilisk Egg and being the extreme animal lover you were (You and Hagrid got along very well), you just couldn't let it just die.
You'd read on it for a few weeks, pouring yourself into the hundreds of books and found out that Basilisk eggs lay dormant for around 3 years and if they are maintained under acceptable condition (preferably by their mother), they would soon hatch, otherwise, they would deteriorate and die.
