Tyler
I hadn't been to the residential home in a while now because school was so demanding nowadays. This is the first time in a week that I've had time to come here. I walked through the doors and said hello to the normal patients I usually saw and then headed straight for the knitting room where I knew Sam was bound to be.
"Hey Sam." I called out as I let the door slam behind me.
"Hey Tyler. what's up? I haven't seen you in a while."
"Yeah, I know. I've been busy with school lately but today I didn't have that much to do so I wanted to stop by to visit-"
"Me of course." he cut me off.
"Conceited much?" I chuckled slightly. "but yeah you and my gran. I want to make sure she's doing okay."

Sam
"Yeah." I said frowning slightly but quickly smiled, trying to cover it up.
This morning she hadn't been doing too well. Someone from the hospital stopped by to check on her and from the looks of things I could tell it was bad. She barley remembered the little things now and she was sleeping a lot. I know old people were supposed to sleep a lot but she was sleeping more than normal. It worried me.
"You know I still have nothing for my grandmother. Its kinda sad actually" Tyler said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Funny you should say that.." I said as I rummaged through my bag.
Tyler glanced at him curiously but said nothing. I pulled out the bundle of cloth.
"Here you go." I handed him the blanket.
It had unique designs all over it. No part of it was the same.
"When did you make this?" Tyler asked, staring in awe at the blanket.
He ran his hand over the material before looking up at me.
"Over the past few weeks but it wasn't just me. I got the other residents to help make some of the patches that way there's a part of all of us on there. Even a part of you." I pointed to the messed up piece at the bottom. "that's yours from the first time your attempted to knit."
"Awe thanks." He said, grateful. "I'm really glad that you did this. I really do appreciate it."
"Yeah, yeah. It was nothing." I smiled a toothy grin. "now go give it you your gran. I'm sure she'll love it a lot."
"Am... Am I allowed to visit her right now?" Tyler asked.
I glanced at my watch. It was only lunch time. It shouldn't matter if he visited his grandmother or not.
"Yeah."
Tyler's face lit up. "Thanks." he said before sprinting down the hall. "and thanks for the blanket."
"No problem." I called behind him.
I watched as Tyler placed his hand on the door and went inside.
