Tyler
My parents stood on either side of me as we went to see grammy. They were trying to be strong for my sake but I could still tell that they were upset. Everyone loves grammy, even strangers seem to find themselves compelled to talk to her. She just gave off a friendly vibe.
"Do you have any news Doc?"
"Well I'm not sure how I should put this... Your grandmother is very old son and sometimes your body just doesn't function right when that happens. She's asleep right now but in a fragile state."

"O-ok"
The doctor looked from my parents to me and then back to my parents again.
"Tyler why don't you go to the snack machine and grab a few things." my father pressed some money into my hands.
I took it and walked slowly around the corner but then stopped. I could hear their voices floating down the hall so I listened in. They just wanted me gone so they could have an 'adult talk' because they thought I couldn't handle it. I could though, I was tough.
"How long does she have left?"
"A month maybe. two if she's lucky."
I couldn't handle it.
