Tyler
For five days now, I've sat with the class and worked on my knitting. I think I was getting better. I mean, at least I got it off the ball this time. Hopefully I would be able to finish. My fingers moved in a repetitious back and forth swishing motion as I held the needles. A smile grew on my face a I admired my work.
"Hey! hey! I think I did it" I yelled as I jumped out of my seat.
My yarn and needles fell to the floor with a clang which caused heads turned my way. Some looked genuinely shocked at my outburst while others seemed annoyed. I bowed my head in embarrassment.
"Sorry." I muttered sheepishly before sitting back down.
"What did you do?" Sam suddenly appeared by my side.
I let a smug smile creep onto my face as I picked up my yarn. "This." I said, showing him the 3 small parts that I had knitted. Sam picked the material up in his hands and stared at it for a while before shaking his head.
"What?"
"That's not knitting. They look like knots."
I let out a small huff. "No they're not, you're just jealous that I'm actually making progress."
"Progress? Ha!" he laughed before taking a seat beside me. "Take a look at mine."
I watched as he pulled out a semi long strand of knitted yarn. I had to admit, I was somewhat impressed even though I wouldn't say it to his face.
"Big deal. I bet in a week, ill knit better than you ever will."
"You sure about that Knot Boy?"
"Bring it."
"You guys are ridiculous." Ashley butted in as she stopped by us. "Besides Sam, you didn't even knit that, I did."
"Ha!" I gloated as Sam was caught red handed.
"And you," she turned and pointed at me," Tyler, I hate to agree with Sam but yours really is just a bunch of knots."
