TWENTY-TWO

Hanjis POV

Its already been a year.....a year of suffering and fighting....everyone has changed and we lost some important people on the way.....

Mike, Nanaba, my squad.....moblit and Erwin.....and the scouts that all went with us on this mission to retake wall Maria and shiganshina....

Eren has changed....after finding out the truth outside the walls he's been more....out of it....we also now have Armin as the colossal titan...

I sighed as I kept working on paperwork....I next in line for the commander....I don't think I can do it.... How can I replace Erwin....

I saw someone walk in my office, it was Lilly she was holding paperwork....her and floch were the only ones who survive the Titan attack.... unfortunately for her, her leg has been severely damaged....

"I finished your paperwork hanji"

"Thank you can just set it there"

She nods and sets the paperwork down on my desk and leaves my office....I sigh how did so much change in one year....

I heard my door open again once more to see Levi at the doorway....he and we're the closest out of everyone...we only had eachother left....

"What's with the face shitty glasses"

I shrug "just tired, anyway what's up?"

"I came in here to check on you, you seem more lost than usual ever since you became commander"

I sigh "Levi I just don't know....Erwins legacy still haunts me....I can never be like him....he was humanitys greatest hope and me....I can't be that"

Levi pulls a chair next to me "yeah your right you could never be like Erwin"

I look at him with a annoyed look "not helping...."

"I didn't finish, you could never be like Erwin BUT that doesn't mean you cant be you....hanji your humanitys smartest you can think of so many things Erwin chose you for a reason just remember that" he said holding my hand.

I leaned on him "thanks Levi..."

He kissed my cheek "anytime four eyes...."

I wish we could go back to the old days....were everything was still new or us and we still have everybody...but that's not how life works....if I'm going to be commander I need to push forward to helping humanity the best I can....

"Levi"

"Hm"

"Do you miss them?...."

"Who..."

"Everyone.... everyone who devoted their hearts"

He sighs "ofcoarse I do why wouldn't I...I just don't show it..."

I nod "yeah me too....I hope to see them one day"

"Hanji shut up and don't say shit like that"

I laugh "doesn't mean I want to die yet Levi, just in general when I do die I want to see them"

He pulls me into a hug "just don't leave me by myself ok"

I nod "I promise"

Levis POV

After talking with hanji I walk back to my room to finish paperwork...I started to have some thoughts...me and hanji have Been dating for over a year... Should I ask her to marry me?....or should I wait....we have been doing it safe so I shouldn't have to worry about her getting pregnant....and it doesn't have to be a big marriage...just as simple as a ring and that's it...

There's another problem...I can't afford a damn ring....maybe I should just ask her....what if she says no....

It would make sense because she likes to pay more attention to her work then her relationship which I respect....and that is why she doesn't want kids yet....

I sigh it's just worth a shot...

I get up and walk to her office when.i run Into her little brat Lilly.

"Oh hey captain"

"Lilly can I ask you something"

She nods, "yeah what's up?"

"Is hanji ever into marrying someone?"

She looks at me surprised "um well I never asked her about it but she doesn't mention half the time....so I honestly don't know Levi...why do you ask?"

"Because I'm going to ask her today" I said with no exspresion.

Lilly smiled "wellllll you could go ask her and see"

I nod and leave waving her goodbye I heard her yell good luck as I left.

I walk Into Hanjis office once more to see her writing paperwork she looks up "yes?"

I close the door and walk up to her I have it all planned out I'll make it look romantic....

"Ummm hanji will you marry me" I said sternly still standing, DAMN IT ME.

"Eh?"

"Sorry let me restart"

I bent down on one knee and took her hand "hanji, I'm not necessarily the best with words or exspressing my feelings....but maybe if you consider it we could you know....maybe get married.... because I love you so much hanji...."

She looked at me surprised "l-levi"

I looked down "it's your choice...."

She pulled my head up and kissed me passionately "yes Levi...my answer is yes"

I kissed her back "it doesn't have to be something big just the fact we are together....".

She hugged me "whatever your comfortable with Levi...."

I hugged her back....I love you Hanji.
