Thousands of noises travel to my ears. Thousands of needles are being pressed against my soft skin. Thousand people are pounding and throwing things against the wall. My body trembles; it feels like wherever I'm it's frosty. My blood feels like it has stopped running through my veins. A sharp stabbing pain crushes through my body; weakening it even more. A small whimper slips out of my lips. I feel hot tears cover my cheeks warming them a bit. It offers me a strange burning sensation. I force my eyes to unlock. I blink many times in order to adjust my gaze. Everything is blurry; whiteness, beds, curtains. I close them again when a throbbing ache spreads all over me; It breaks my bones.
"Corbyn," His name leaves my lips before I realize myself.
He came. My angel came to save me gain. My angel. The word makes my eyes pool and I open my lids to free them. I look around but I don't find him. I sit up and regret it instantly while a pulsating pain blooms inside me. I cry out in pain and feel tears run down in the impact.
An elderly lady appears with a white robe; her white hair is gathered in a tight ponytail in the back of her head. As she approaches me, she graces me with a wide reassuring grin.
"Are you okay, honey?"
"I'm...no...I feel..." I try to speak but my mind feels to be swollen; I can't think.
"Can you tell me your name?" My eyes snap open.
"Why are you asking me this?" I recall Edward hitting my head a couples of times. It can't mean that I'm was out for days or years. I can't have lost my memory.
"Where am I?" My anxiety mixes with agony as I gaze around blinking. I haven't been here before. Empty beds separated with white curtains occupy the grand room. It seems like a hospital.
"I will explain everything but I need you to answer me first," Her smile hasn't left her lips and her smooth voice calms a part of me.
"Amelia Evans," Her grin widens as she seems satisfied.
"Very good. Do you remember what happened?""Yes,"
"What was that?"
My lips part but I close them. I remember everything. Every single one of my moves in order to break out of this room, to escape me. I recall Corbyn coming in just the moment I lost my senses.
"I...I...was in a fight with someone and I fainted at the end."
"You were in a fight?" She furrows her eyebrows in confusion. I don't know what to say. I don't know what she or everyone else knows. Can I tell her the truth? Does she know it? I shake my head in disapproval. This is a dead end.
"Can you tell me please how long have I been out?" She seems to be hesitant but she thankfully speaks.s
"Just a couple of hours. I injected you and I hooked you up to a drip-feed," She explains and I check my right hand to find it connected to a clear plastic small bag full of a diaphanous liquid. Oh no. I look for my phone but it is in my locker along with the rest of my stuff.
"Do you know that happened?" I ask with desperation evident in my small voice. My body feels numbness though I don't have the time to ask her what she injected me with. I rest my head in my hands.
"It was a big fight. I have been in this school for almost a decade and I have never seen anything like this. A boy got expelled from the school after the teachers and the principal found him." A smile finds its way to my lips. Edward is expelled. My angel saved me. I feel this sudden yet overwhelming craving to see him, touch him, and get lost in his embrace.
"What about the other boy? There were two,"
"Just detention," She says and I let out a breath I have been holding in since the second I laid my eyes on Edward. It' over; I can't believe it. We are free.
