It was clocking in at almost 2am when Y/N slid her key into the lock. Another late night working on this one line she couldn't quite figure out. It was driving Y/N crazy. In all honesty, if it wasn't for the voice in her head (which sounded suspiciously like Jesy) telling her she couldn't think properly without a good night's sleep, she'd still be at the studio.

She opened the door to Jesy's mostly dark house. There was a stream of muted white light, occasionally flickering different colors, that danced across the walls. She could hear the sound of quiet voices and silly sound effects as she took a few steps deeper into the loft, kicking off her shoes and setting her things on the table. Jesy must have forgotten to shut the television off, again.

Y/N walked towards the t.v. when she heard a soft snore coming from the lump on the couch. She turned her head to the source of the new sound and smiled as she took in the sight of Jesy snuggled under the fluffy throw blanket. Jesy's hands were pulled close to her chest, and her long curly hair splayed across the decorative pillow, arm rest, and her face. Y/N crouched down and pushed the stray locks that caught to Jesy's lips behind her ear, keeping her hand cradled gently on her cheek.

Y/N couldn't help but regard how beautiful Jesy looked under the lighting, cutting across her jaw and cheekbones just so. She pressed a soft kiss to Jesy's forehead before she decided to wake her.

"Jes," Y/N whispered, placing her hand on Jesy's shoulder and shaking it lightly. "Wake up, sweetheart."

It didn't take much to stir her, and her eyes started to slit open slowly.

"Hey," Jesy greeted deeply once her vision focused on the face before her. "You're finally home."

Y/N's heart skipped at the word "home", just as it always did when Jesy addressed the place as something that was theirs, and tried her best to ignore the moisture between her legs listening to Jesy's scratchy voice.

"Why aren't you in bed? I texted you not to wait up because I knew I'd be late."

Jesy swung her legs off the couch so they were beside Y/N's still crouching body. She took Y/N's face in both hands and pulled her into a warm kiss. Y/N hummed in satisfaction, melting into the first kiss she had since this morning. Jesy pulled back slightly, hands still on Y/N's cheeks, and rested their foreheads against each other's.

"I know, I just hate laying in bed without you. It's never as soft when you're not in it."

"Is that so?" Y/N chuckled, lifting her hands to interlock their fingers. She kissed Jesy soundly once more before she stood to her feet, turned off the t.v. and began walking towards the bedroom, pulling Jesy with her.

Once in the room, Y/N stripped down to a sports bra and her boxers and slid under the covers with an already half asleep Jesy. She pulled Jesy closer to her chest, letting herself be lulled by the steady rhythm of her even breathing. Jesy wrapped her arms around Y/N's waist, pulling her closer, enveloping her in the scent of warm lavender. Y/N let the waves of sleepiness wash over her, the weight of the day lifting from her shoulders.

The last thing she hears is Jesy grumbling "so comfy" before they're both drifted off to sleep.
