Jade woke up cold.
The sun was shining through the curtains in her bedroom. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. She sighed and got out of bed to grab her favorite hoodie and head into the kitchen. As she was walking to the kitchen, she heard music and laughing. She smiled to herself and turned the corner seeing her flatmate Zack and the one person she was looking for, her girlfriend Y/N. They were messing around while Y/N was making breakfast.
Jade loved seeing Y/N like this, happy and relaxed. Not stressing about her job because of her manager. She decided to make her presence known. Zack saw her first. "Ah there she is! The birthday queen! Happy birthday Jadey!" Jade giggled as he picked her up and spun her around. "Alright Zack, gimme my girl so I can give her some birthday love." He put her down as Jade walked over to where Y/N was standing. Y/N opened her arms and Jade automatically walked into the taller girl's arms.
"Happy birthday baby girl." Jade giggled and kissed Y/N's collarbone through her shirt. "Thank you love." Y/N smiled and leaned down and kissed Jade passionately. Jade wrapped her arms around Y/N's neck, pulling her deeper into the kiss. They pulled away when air was a necessity. "What a way to start my birthday, aye?" Y/N chuckled and kissed Jade's forehead.
After breakfast, Zack retired back to his room as Y/N and Jade laid on the couch. "God, I am stuffed to the brim." Y/N smiled and rubbed Jade's stomach. "I told you not to eat that last pancake." Jade groaned. "It's not my fault you make the best pancakes in the world." Y/N smiled. "Why, thank you love." Jade smiled and buried her face in the crook of Y/N's neck. "I love you a lot." Y/N kissed Jade's temple. "I love you a lot too baby." Jade smiled. "So, what do we have planned today?" Y/N pretended to think. "Well, Zack and Holly promised to leave us alone later because I am making you dinner, then, we are gonna take a bath and maybe a lil birthday sex?" Jade giggled. "Okay baby."
Jade was told to wait in her room as Y/N got the room ready. She was told to wear a dress that Y/N picked out for her. As she waited, she scrolled through Instagram to see multiple birthday messages. As she began reposting some, she heard Y/N call her. She took a deep breath and walked out to see a path of rose petals leading her to the kitchen. She followed them to see candles lit and Y/N putting plates of chicken parmesan on the table. Y/N was wearing an all black suit that matched Jade's dress. Jade almost drooled at how good her girlfriend looked. Y/N noticed that Jade was in the room and smiled. "Hi baby." Jade strode across the room and grabbed Y/N by the lapel of her suit jacket and kissed the life out of her.
Y/N groaned into the kiss. Jade's lips were just so soft and she loved kissing them and being kissed by them. Jade pulled away with blown pupils and swollen lips. "I don't know what I did to deserve you but I hope I can keep you forever." Y/N smiled and then looked nervous. "About that." Jade looked confused until Y/N got down on one knee.
"I was going to wait until after dinner to do this but I cannot wait anymore. Jade, these past two years have been the absolute best of my life. You have made my life so much better since you came into it. You have made me a better person. You have taught me so many things in this relationship. God, I cannot even describe how much you mean to me. You are one of the strongest people I know. You have been through so much and you have persevered all of the shit that people throw at you and I couldn't be prouder. You are the woman I want to spend my life with. You are the woman I want to be the mother of my children."
Y/N reached into her suit pocket to get the ring. Jade was full blown sobbing at this point.
"This ring means I choose you, and Jade, I will choose you for the rest of my life. If you'll let me. Jade Amelia Thirlwall, will you marry me?"
Jade got on her knees in front of Y/N and cupped her cheeks and pulled her into the most passionate kiss the couple have ever shared. They pulled away when air was a need. Jade leaned her forehead on Y/N's.
"Yes, I will marry you." Y/N smiled and kissed Jade again before sliding the ring on her finger. They stood up and Y/N turned to walk to the table when Jade grabbed her wrist. "Where do you think you're going?" Y/N looked confused. "To eat?" Jade smirked and pulled Y/N in the direction of her bedroom and Y/N got the idea.
The food could wait.
The next morning, Jade woke up warm. Y/N's arms were wrapped around her waist and spooning Jade. Jade smiled and snuggled more into the girl's embrace.
She couldn't wait to wake up like this for the rest of her life.
