22: Are You Serious?

I decided to update the drawing I made of Nao's hero costume since its been updated a fair amount by now.

"The event held every years of course, the crushing of U.A!" 

Immediately the class watched as a mass of balls descended. Nao watched as Uraraka flew up to avoid them and Sero caught several with his tape. Quickly he grabbed Jiro and Kaminari who were close to him and put up a bubble that pushed all the balls back. The moment he dropped it the ground began to shake. 

"Everyone, be careful!" Iida said, Nao couldn't even see him past the ruptured ground now, but what he could see was Todoroki. "Peppermint! Wait up!" Nao called out, scrambling down the rocks to his friend. Surprisingly, Todoroki waited. 

The white haired boy was flattered that they were finally friends enough that Todoroki didn't think of him as dead weight. They had even sparred a little bit in preparation where Nao learned even without his quirk Todoroki was overwhelming in battle. The two snuck around until they reached the labyrinth area. 

"You keep moving forward, I'll cover you." Nao said with a bright smile. Todoroki nodded and the two continued sneaking around the battles happening around them. 

"50 participants have already passed." The lackluster hero commission representative announced. A bit of panic shot through both teens as they looked at each other in shock. "We need to act fast." Todoroki resolved. Nao nodded and this time the two made no effort to hide their presence. It wouldn't take long for someone to pick a fight with them anyways, being from U.A put about 10 more targets on you than the exam already had. 

"Look! Its U.A!" A voice called out. Nao felt himself get shoved back behind a large tank as Todoroki lunged forward, attacking a group of ninja like students. "Lets crush him! For Seijin!". 

Nao watched as projectiles were flung at his friend, wondering if there was a strategy to him being hidden. There had to be, Todoroki was more the type to fight alone instead of taking opportunities away from others. 

A massive bolt was flung right at Todoroki and that's when Nao couldn't take it anymore. He rushed out and put an energy field around the two of them sending the bolt flying behind them. "And here I was going to compliment you for trying to go it alone!" One of the students laughed. Nao dropped the bubble to let Todoroki attack when a new round of projectiles hit. The Seijin students laughed at the fire that met their weapons. "They're tungsten, you can't melt them!" Another student revealed.

The flames cleared to reveal that Todoroki had not in fact gotten hit. One of Nao's new special moves had really come in handy as all the balls that were incased in small forcefields timed out, not creating any glass this time. Nao smirked at their shocked faces. "I'm not piggybacking off him, don't forget we're both from U.A!" he said, challenging them. 

He didn't have a name for the new special move yet. His pops had suggested at least a dozen pointless things like 'capture' or 'bubble up!' but none of them had really stuck. The really important part wasn't the forcefields anyways, it was the lack of glass. Before they started training for the exam Nao couldn't use the quick time bubbles without them shattering after 12 seconds. He still hadn't managed to extend their time limit like his dad had hoped but now they were much safer to use around other people. 

There was another new move he had mastered but in no way was 'epilepsy warning', the joke name Kirishima had given it, useful in this situation. Truthfully he was sure his classmates were going to kill him for insisting he use them as test subjects instead of the clones. He was never going to live down the one time he dropped Kaminari. It was from quite high up too, the poor guy.
