Nao didn't know how to feel when he woke up the next morning. He knew he should be getting ready for school but honestly, he couldn't be bothered.

Everything felt muddled and out of place. Nothing was felt okay and he couldn't find the motivation to fix it.

Izuku was right, of course. He usually was.

He had come to U.A to become a hero. His life long goal of going to U.A had been realized. He had been successful in the sports festival, he had gotten his license, hell, he had even helped save Eri from the yakuza.

Nao figured he was just being a irrational teenager. Maybe it was the allure of having a school life so unlike what he had that made it end up this way. He felt like he had been flung from event to event, battle to battle. He had so focused on the end goal until he got his license and then what had he done? Cast the goal aside for the first boy to look at him like that. For the first boy to call him cute. How childish.

It had just been a break. All he had done was taken one break from the goal, and where had that landed him? Midoriya and Todoroki were working hard towards their goals. And Nao, well Nao had been making heart eyes at his classmate.

The teen stared at the ceiling, not even having the energy to check the time on his phone, instead guessing that by how bright the light from the balcony was it was time to go to school. But it felt like he couldn't life a finger, so he stayed there, beating himself up and mulling everything over.

At some point Nao assumed he would be discovered during room check. He honestly wondered if anyone had noticed he wasn't there yet. He wasn't much of a morning person so he was usually silent during breakfast anyways.

It was probably Hound Dog doing the room check today anyways so he'd be sniffed out in a second. When that happened he'd have to choose between facing the world or pretending to be sick and spending the day in Recovery Girl's office.

Every thought sounded more and more pathetic to the purple haired teen. Why was he so shocked by reality? Deep down he knew that his goal was to become a hero. He knew that U.A wouldn't be the type of school where you could sneak out, cry to your parents about everything and date. He must have known.

------ ------- ------ ----- ------

There had been a flu outbreak in 1-B so Hound Dog was preoccupied. The back up teacher that morning had been Present Mic, so Hizashi abandoned the teacher's lounge to check on 1-A.

Everyone should be arriving at school just about now but no sick reports had appeared on the attendance yet so Hizashi figured all he would discover today was how messy some of his students keep their rooms.

He went from room to room, announcing himself differently every time. Not that it really mattered, he was yet to see any signs of life. He casually opened to door to his son's room with a quick "Nao, you in here? I'm here to see my favorite listener, don't tell you dad I said that.". Not that the statement was quick.

Hizashi nearly turned around when he didn't get an answer until the light coming from the bed caught his attention. Cautiously he lifted the covers to find Nao, curled up in the tiniest ball possible, encased in a forcefield. The pro hero could feel his heart sink, immediately thinking the boy was sick.

"Baby, can you come out of the bubble?" Hizashi asks, sitting down on his son's bed. Nao grumbled and dropped it. He looked up at the pro hero with puffy red eyes and for a moment Hizashi worried he was sleepwalking again.

"How do you balance hero work with having a life?" Nao croaked, sitting up in bed. Hizashi was a bit taken aback by the question but he answered regardless.
