Chapter 18.

At the end of Chapter 17:  They had set aside a pregnancy test to use when they felt it was time. Today was the day to use it. When the saw that the results were positive, and that Sanem was pregnant, they both cried. After they had been to the doctor and Sanem's pregnancy was confirmed, they were more excited than ever. The doctor told them that the hormone levels in Sanem's bloodwork indicated a possible multiple birth. He would know more in a few weeks. Sanem was in the very early stages of the pregnancy. They decided they would tell the family only about Sanem being pregnant. Nothing about the possibility of there being more than one baby.

Sanem continued with her live broadcasts and working at the Agency. Along with writing descriptions of Can's photos and helping him label then, she was very busy. Her pregnancy was going well with some nausea in the mornings and cravings in the afternoons. Can was prepared and tried to keep a good supply of fruits, candy, and chicken wings on hand. He was doing a good job and very rarely had to go out at night to pick up snacks. When she had a chance to rest, the animal babies were helping Sanem with naps.

Sanem decided it was finally time to tell her fans about her pregnancy. She made the announcement the week she made chicken wings with cumin, lemon, and garlic. She had been craving this dish and talked about all of the different cravings she was having with her fans. Thankfully, she was craving fruits more than anything. She talk about how she was cutting back on spices because of occasional heartburn, and that she was not eating some cheeses or any fish at all right now. She was being very careful to follow the doctor's instructions and to take her prenatal vitamins.

When Sanem signed off, she announced that before the next live broadcast, she would be having an ultrasound and would be sharing the results. She waved goodbye with both hands as she signed off with, "Keep cooking and dreaming."

Sanem and Can were anxious to see the ultrasound results, particularly when the doctor told them he was hearing more than one heartbeat. They had told no one they might be having more than one baby. The day of the ultrasound, Sanem and Can were so excited that their animals picked up on it and were running in circles around and around them. They finally got their animal babies settled down and into the laundry room and in their soft beds. They told Baby to watch the kittens, that they would not be too late coming home.

When Can and Sanem arrived at Dr. Yaman's office, the nurse took them straight back to his office. The staff was also excited to see the ultrasound results as they had fallen in love with this sweet couple. After taking vital signs and doing the lab work, they were taken into the ultrasound room and Sanem changed into a hospital-type gown. Dr. Yaman came into the room with the technician and warmed gel was rubbed onto Sanem's stomach.

Can held her hand and they both watched the screen as Dr. Yaman moved the device across her stomach. He said, "I see two babies on one placenta so it looks like identical twins who are girls. They continued to move the wand across Sanem's lower abdomen. The doctor said, "Stop right there. Now I see another baby but cannot tell the sex at this time. This baby is being shy and has turned away."

Can and Sanem looked at each other with wide eyes. Sanem exclaimed, "We want three babies but not all at once."

Dr. Yaman laughed. "Looks like all at once is the way they will be coming."

Can looked shocked and didn't say anything. They made an appointment for three weeks and left the office. Sanem and Can held hands and walked to the truck, neither one of them capable of saying anything. When they got into the truck, they sat quietly for a few minutes then turned to each other and started smiling.
