Chapter 20.

At the end of Chapter 19:  As the three turned to leave, the police officer who was first on the scene came over to them. He reached his hand out to CeyCey. "I just want to shake your hand. That was some of the quickest and most efficient ways to stop a kidnapping and possible murder. You did a wonderful job. Some day you will have to tell me how you handled all four of them so quickly." CeyCey was getting flustered but Sanem tapped his arm. He reached out his hand and shook the officer's hand, quietly saying, "Thank you." Can, Sanem, and CeyCey walked back to the office and Can hugged them both. With tears in his eyes, he told CeyCey, "Thank you so much for helping Sanem and saving our family."

Things moved quickly over the next couple of weeks. Polen and Yigit's parents arrived in Istanbul from England. There was a lot of unwanted publicity and they wanted the trial over with soon. They hired a lawyer and paid him a lot of money to discredit Can and Sanem. They told him to lie and get false evidence and his fee would be doubled. If he also succeeded in getting Yigit out of jail, they would pay him even more.

When the day of the trial came, the media were everywhere. Can and Sanem were called as witnesses for the Prosecution's case against Polen. Sanem was now seven months' pregnant and very tired and worn out. Reporters and paparazzi were following she and Can everywhere. Fortunately, Sanem was mostly staying at home. Can Can or other family members were with her at all times. They did not trust Polen's family not to try and harm her.

As a legal representative of the Divit's, Metin was sitting at the Prosecutor's table in the courtroom. As the proceedings began, the Prosecutor called Sanem to the witness stand. Sanem stepped forward and was assisted up the steps to the witness chair by the Prosecutor. She was then sworn in to tell the truth.

Sanem answered all the questions asked truthfully. She did not know why Polen continued attacking her and her unborn children. She and Can had been married for over two years and were very happy. Yes, Polen had caused problems from the very beginning when she and Can first started dating.

The Prosecutor paused to enter police evidence into the court records documenting when Polen had conspired with Fabri in their attempts to drug Sanem and Can. He also entered police evidence of what Polen's part had been in Sanem's kidnapping. Then the Prosecutor turned his witness, Sanem, over to the Defense Attorney.

When he stood, Polen sat smirking. The Defense Attorney began by asking Sanem if she is sure the babies she is carrying are Can Divit's.

Sanem calmly answered, "Yes, I am."

The attorney then pulled some papers from a file. "I want to offer these pictures as evidence that Sanem Aydin has been cheating on Can Divit." Can was so angry that he started to stand. Aziz and Nihat were seated on either side of him and restrained him.

Sanem calmly took the photos and looked at them. They had obviously been modified. She looked at the Defense Attorney waiting for his question.

He asked, "Ms. Aydin, who is in these pictures?"

Sanem replied very calmly, "This picture is of me sleeping in my bed with my dog and cats. As you can see, my husband is not in the picture. The white hair you see on my shoulder is my dog's head. Now my question to you is why is someone taking pictures through my bedroom window?"

The Judge requested to see the photo and asked the Defense Attorney, "Where did you get these pictures? I can see this is a dog in the picture. To have these photos is clearly an invasion of privacy."
