At the end of Chapter 20:  As he held Sanem in his arms, Can turned to the family and said, "I want to apologize to all of you for my actions that led to this mess. I am so ashamed and sorry for bringing Polen into our lives and for living the lifestyle that I once did." Sanem hugged him back. "As long as it is in the past, you are okay. Beware though if you act like that in the future." All of the family laughed as they left the courtroom to begin the next adventure. On their way out of the courthouse, Sanem looked everywhere for Hüma. She did not realize that Hüma was hiding behind a statue in the hallway, watching them leave with tears in her eyes. Sanem wanted to thank her for telling the truth and warning them of Polen's plans. Maybe she can find a way to send a message of gratitude to her, one day very soon.

**********

Life settled down for Sanem and Can as they waited for their children to be born. Sanem had started working totally from home. If Can had to go into the office, family members took turns staying with her. Baby and the kittens loved it when there were people with them at home. They especially loved their days at home with Sanem.

The next visit to Dr. Yaman was scheduled when her pregnancy was at 32 weeks. Sanem would also have another ultrasound. It has been easy to keep an eye on the identical twin girls she was carrying. However, the third baby continued to be shy. So, they still did not know the sex of this child. Can is really hoping for a boy but Sanem is happy just to have a healthy baby. Dr. Yaman had already advised them that a C-Section would be needed, sometime between the stage of her pregnancy at 32 to 36 weeks. Sanem is so petite that three babies will not have much room to grow. For several weeks, Sanem had already been seeing the doctor every week to monitor her progress.

Sanem had continued to do her weekly live broadcasts. However, she finally decided that this week would be her last broadcast for some time. She had announced this to her fans the previous week. They had begged her to continue until after the babies arrived.

When she opened her broadcast this week, she reminded her fans this would be the last cooking show for a while. Questions were popping up like crazy. Sanem laughed and responded. "I will answer all of your questions the best I can while we make Turkish Rice Pudding today. It is something I have been craving so I thought we would make it today."

She continued. "Thank you for all your concerns about the trial. All we could do is tell the truth and it worked. Things have calmed down now. Yes, I am sorry that my husband's former friend had to go to prison. But she told the truth and that is the result. We do feel safer now, thank you. No, we were not scared of her family member who is a criminal. We knew the justice system would prevail if we were all truthful. I like this quote from American writer and humorist, Mark Twain. 'It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.' Our fight was big. To protect me and our children."

Sanem began talking about the dish she was making on the broadcast. "Now today, we are making Turkish Baked Rice Pudding or Firin Sutlac. I have already cooked the rice, mixed in the whole milk except for one cup, added sugar and vanilla extract. It has now simmered gently for 10 minutes. Now I will whisk in the leftover cup of milk and the cornstarch until the mixture has become smooth. Continue stirring as you pour this into the rice mixture. Then turn up the heat until pudding is boiling and when the pudding thickens, continue to stir for an additional two minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and spoon the mixture into small ovenware cups."

Sanem continued mixing and talking while she swirled small amounts of a beaten egg yolk and milk mixture on top of the small cups. She placed the cups into a hot oven for about 20 minutes, so the tops could be nicely browned. She told her fans she had used vanilla extract instead of rose water, as that is what she has been craving, but either one is good.
