At the end of Chapter 21:  They had completed the nursery and planned that, for now, the three babies would share a room. Different birds decorated the walls of the nursery. Three white cribs were assembled and soft bedding sets put into place. The new clothing for the babies had been washed and put away into dressers. A supply of newborn diapers had been purchased. Three infant car seats were installed in the second seat of Can's truck. All they had to do now was notify the grandparents of what would be happening the following Monday.

**********

The whole family was very excited to hear that the babies would be born on the following Monday. Sanem and Can spent the weekend resting and preparing for the big day. Sanem cooked many make-ahead dishes for the the freezer. It would make it easier on Can and her when the babies came home, and they would not have to depend on their family for too much help.

On Sunday afternoon, they spent several hours with Emre, Leyla, and baby Ahu to show Emre how to take care of Baby and the kittens. He had agreed to come by mornings before work and evenings after work to check on them and give them food and water. They estimated they would only need this kind of help for a couple of days.

Twenty-month-old Ahu was outside playing bubbles with Can and Emre. When Can told her they would be bringing three babies home in a few days, she became very excited. Ahu loved coming to Sanem Teyze's and Can Dayi's house to play. Along with Baby and the kittens, soon there would be three more babies to play with.

When everyone left that day, Sanem and Can were sitting on the couch hugging each other, with their animal babies around them. They were excited and nervous about the coming birth of their babies. Can was worried about Sanem. She laughed at this and told him everything would be okay. Their biggest worry would be naming all these babies. Besides, she was definitely ready for the babies to come.

Can hugged her tightly to him and said, "Let's go snuggle and sleep. This may be our longest sleep for the next eighteen years."

Sanem laughed. She told the animal babies, "You had better go to sleep too, because you won't be sleeping much either."

Early the next morning, Sanem got up first and took her shower. While Can was in the shower, she began dressing in a cute maternity dress with a tie that wrapped it closed. She thought it would also be the most comfortable to wear home afterwards. Hopefully, her stomach would go down and she could tie it tighter. Suddenly, she found herself stuck trying to put on the dress. It would not come off or go on because her arms were stuck straight up in the air.

Sanem was sitting on the bed with Baby and the kittens beside her. She was giggling and Baby was barking when Can came out from the bathroom wrapped only in a towel.

He walked over to the bed and asked Sanem, "Do you maybe need a little help?"

Sanem answered, "No, I thought I would go dressed like this." She was laughing so hard she could hardly talk.

Can laughed along with her. "I think I can help, by untying this tie on the side. Then it will slip right into place."

Sanem hugged him saying, "It's a good thing the babies are coming out today since right now, I cannot even dress myself. You look good in this towel but the nurses would faint. You would be a big distraction if you went to the hospital dressed only in a towel."

Can hugged her back. "I will get dressed now unless you need more help."

The animals just looked at each other, like they wondered "What is wrong with our humans this morning?"
