Chapter 1 (pt2)

" It's your second time you are late this week" Mrs Yang tell off the girl in front of her. She just stood there staring at the floor, trying her best not to brust out, she definitely can't defeat her boss because she need this job. Cursing under her breathe, she stick out her tongue when her boss back faced her.

" Anyway I'm letting you go this time because of the weather but keep in mind that one more time you come late I will fire you, Got it miss Jieun " The owner turned to face her and Jieun who was clowning her boss quickly look down and nodded.

With that Mrs Yang headed to serve the customer and Jieun towards the restroom. She had to run in the rain in order to get at her work in time. It was silly of her that she forgot to carry an umbrella. It's the starting of monsoon how can she forgot?

Jieun let out a sigh. Thinking why Mrs Yang was in such a foul mood, shaking of his thought she change into her barista uniform, tied her hair and went to the terrace to dry her wet clothes after that she went back to her work.

As she walked to the window a smile creeped out in her face watching the nature and it's sheer beauty. Rain is beautiful, just beautiful as it gives her plenty of reasons to smile. All her sorrows and tears would get wiped off from those pure heavenly waters.

" Hey Jieun late again," A familiar voice from behind asked her making her gasp softly. She turns around to see her co-worker. Again a big smile appear on her face.

" Miyeon-ah. I always try my best to come early but somehow ended up being late " she explain pouting-disappointment showing on her face.

" Ya! It's okay at least you trying to adjust in your new life " Her friend who seems to be Miyeon offers a bright smile to her, putting her hands on the other girl's shoulder in attempt to lift up her mood but instead of that the other girl was now shocked.

" Y-you know about it? " Jieun amused. She didn't remember when did she share her problems with Miyeon.

" Sorry for being little noisy but yes I know-" Miyeon gaze fall as Jieun listen to her " Actually last Friday when we both went for lunch together, you weren't sober and you told me about it " she said feeling guilty.

Jieun mentally slapped herself for her silliness, " It's alright, at least now I have someone whom I can share my so-called problems " her lips curved upward.

" If you both done with your chit-chat, mind get back to work? " out of the blue Mrs Yang interrupted making both the girls gasp.

Bowing towards their boss both of them went to their counter to serve the customer. Jieun let out an another sigh, wearing a smile ready to take orders from the customers.

" Good Morning Sir, let me know what you like to order "

" One Americano, please "

Jieun washed the last dish and dry her hand. She headed towards the changing room to change into her casual clothes. Her shift was over so she was ready to leave, before leaving she checks her watch. 9:30 pm it reads and sighed. It was pretty late than usual, she wanted to come home as soon as possible.

As she was walking down the street, she noticed that the nearby book shop was still open. She wanted to borrow a book for so long but can't because of her busy schedule, thinking for a while she decided to pay a visit.

The shop wasn't crowded obviously because it's late night, few students were still there probably preparing for their tests or exams. The female gasped when an unfamiliar voice approach her she turn towards the person when her eyes met with pair of chocolate brown ones.

" I was searching for the book Map of the soul 7 " is it available? " Jieun ask the guy who is looking younger than her, hoping he would say yes but seems like luck wasn't her.

" I'm sorry but that book is already borrowed by someone " the boy half smiled, " You can borrow some other book if you want " the guy again spoke when he noticed how the girl's mood got down.

" Sure I'll love to, by the way are you recently shifted in this area? " Jieun questioned out of the blue, she realized she never seen him before.

The brown eyes guy scratch the back of his neck as his lips tug upward forming a smile, " You guessed it right I'm new here"

Jieun nodded and went towards the bookshelves, after like a whole minutes she decided to borrow one certain book that caught attention the most. She walked towards th counter with a descent smile.

" I'd like to borrow this boo- " however the girl stopped what she was saying since the guy he first met wasn't there anymore instead there was another guy which she assume was same age as her,
" T-this book " a blush crept up her face as soon as the guys gaze fall on her.

Without uttering a single word he smile and nodded.

The Next Day

Jieun woke up as the sunlight hit her precious face. She let out a yawn and soon her eyes got widened, she takes a glance at her phone to see the time "8:10" am it reads " Damn it" cursing under her breathe she got up from her bed and rush towards the washroom.

She did her makeup hurriedly as she was again going to be late. The thought of Mrs Yang yelling at her made the girl pale. She has only twenty minutes left so she decided to skip her breakfast and left her apartment.

She pushes the door of the cafe harshly as she enters, she was panting since she run to get on time.

" Miss Cho Jieun you are 8 minutes late " her boss who is now angry because of her said.

" I'm so sorry " the girl apologize, gasping for air, " I won't be late next time, promise " She explained trying to catch her breath.

" I know you I won't see you being late next time " The lady smiles at her making the girl let out a sigh of relief. " You are fired Miss Jieun " Her eyes widened, she raised her head to see her boss face to face.

" B-but, I'm sorry, p..please don't do this, I promise I won't be late again " Jieun try her best to persuade her boss but guess it was no use.

" Sorry doesn't cover it! Miss Cho, you are fired and that's my final decision, I expect my employees to be on time! " the lady folded her arms glaring at Jieun.

At this moment Jieun burst out in anger, "Yeah, that's obviously a lie. I usually arrive here fifteen minutes before the start of my shift. I never heard you complain about that "

" That's entirely different! I don't tolerate tardiness " Mrs Yang defended.

" and I don't tolerate assholes, but sometimes we don't have a choice, do we? I myself quiting this job " She walked out, threw her badge at her boss and told her to go fuck herself before bidding her last good.

Her old boss was yelling at Jieun but she decided to ignore it, " I hope tomorrow will be a better day "
