Dr. Spencer Reid is an incredibly insecure person. He just doesn't talk about it often. These are sore spots for him and he doesn't like talking about them in the sense of why, when, how, that sort of thing. There's a lot of them.
His mother and father
He's constantly worried about his mom and his dad is a sore subject for obvious reasons. His intellect
He hates how smart he is sometimes because people look at him so differently. His rambling
He gets excited and enjoys talking about things he loves, but he gets cut off enough that he's become insecure about it.His body
He finds himself too awkward and unconventionally unattractive. He's baffled whenever someone hits on him, if he even understands what they're doing. His school experience
He knows he didn't have a conventional life. When people talk about their shitty high school experience, all Reid can contribute is that he was lucky if he wasn't publicly humiliated or beat up at least three times a week. His talking style
He knows he stutters a lot when he's trying to get words out, and he just can't make words work sometimes so he has to frantically write things down. He knows he goes into too much detail, he can't help it.His hair
He is constantly changing how his hair looks because he doesn't think it ever looks good. His bisexuality
His dad was borderline homophobic. One of those "they can do what they want, just not in public" type of folks. His mom can't care less, but she'd most likely forget it. He knows he's already awkward enough, he doesn't need more slurs thrown at him.His asexuality
He feels he's broken for not feeling much, if any, sexual attraction. He was always given the talk, told he'd figure it out eventually, it's okay to be a late bloomer, and it just never worked. This is one of his biggest insecurities because he thinks people will think something's wrong with him.His disorders
He knew from a young age something was wrong with him, and as he got older, he slowly figured it out. He just didn't get tested until his late 20's, early 30's so he could get medication to help him. He just hates how he affects his team with his issues. His eyesight
He's blind without his glasses or contacts. He feels useless without them. His sensory issues
He wants to give hugs, to be able to talk to people, he just can't and becomes incredibly anxious at the idea of doing simple things like not removing his tags in his clothes.
