When Spencer was 14, he managed to make friends. He didn't know these friends wanted nothing more then to take advantage of him. They were older then him, and eventually talked him into doing a bit of vandalism with them. They promised him it would be fun, they wouldn't get caught, all that stuff, and he did it because he didn't want to risk losing the only "friends" he had.

When Spencer was 17, in college, his friends took advantage of his want for friends and talked him into helping them plan to rob a convenience store. He knew it was wrong, he knew it was, but that didn't stop him. He needed friends, he couldn't be alone again. The robbery was successful, and this was when Reid realized his brains would work well in this field.

When Reid was 20, he slowly began to become a consult for different people. How to get away with this or that, how to successfully do things. His one condition? He had to keep his own hands clean. He would tell you how to "hypothetically" kill someone and get away with it, but he wouldn't do the task himself.

When Spencer was 23, his mother was kidnapped and supposedly killed, and Reid swore revenge. He tracked and killed the men who did it and, surprisingly, didn't end them. He just terrorized them for a while. Out fo fear, they each shot each other clean through the head. Finally, after years and years of building up his reputation, he smiled. He knew what kind of world he lived in, the risk he put himself in, but he didn't care. Not anymore. There wasn't anyone to put at risk.

When Reid was 26, the BAU picked up on a cold case that seemingly went active again. The suicide of eight men with a clean shot through the head. The only reason it went cold was due to the fact that there was zero evidence literally anywhere and it wasn't ruled a kill. The only note left was on a typewriter.

"It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them." - Deuteronomy 32:35

When Spencer Reid was 26, he was framed for murder by the people he helped. He admitted to helping criminals in the past, he gave names, he admitted to drug use, but he never admitted to the murders as he, technically, didn't do them. He messed with the agents, profiling them as well and telling them things he had learned about them in the short amount of time the BAU was on the case.

When Reid was 27, he was sentenced to a prison in Virginia for accessory to murder, where he was transferred to a mental facility about a year later due to his many disorders.

When Spencer Reid was 27, he never stopped helping, but he ended up helping the other side of people when they realized just how valuable his mind was. Reid became a consultant in many, many cases throughout the US due to his extensive knowledge of facts, human behavior, and analysis skills. The people at the BAU didn't forget him and, surprisingly, visited him quite often when they did more research into his life and realized why he was the way he was.

When Dr. Spencer Reid was 29, he was given a pardon and released from the facility to work at the BAU. He was under constant surveillance by everyone who worked there and had to check in, but they saw the side of him that he buried, the side of him that got him beat up and publicly harassed. They saw the side of him that smiled when he was allowed to talk about chemical compounds, the side of him that lit up when Star Trek was on, the side of him that spun around in his chair and giggled to himself when he was excited. They saw the Spencer Reid he should have been.

When Spencer was 31, he talked to the BAU about his mother and about what happened to her. He teared up when he mentioned how she was his everything and that he never was able to get the closure he needed by getting a body and having a real funeral. That's when the BAU decided, collectively, to help Reid find his mom, or at least find where she was dumped.

When Spencer was 32, Hotch walked up to Reid with very worrying news. His mother was alive, and they had found her. He finally saw her again and, for the first time, the BAU saw Reid genuinely happy.

When Spencer Reid was 14, his life took a turn for the worse. His misfortune began before then, but his turning point started by being manipulated by people who claimed to be his friends and he was so desperate for some, he went with it. A little less then 20 years later, Spencer Reid was finally himself again, and finally whole.
