Chapter 8

I took one last look at my friends who are in our car before I stepped into the building. I flipped my hair and wore my best smile.

It's a good thing that my family organized everything for me, so I am in no hassle today. I just have my school bag now, because my things are already in the dorm. Kuya Ross sent some of our house helps to arrange them in the room we rented for me yesterday. He was not at all supportive of this caper. In fact, he was fuming mad when he found out that Tita allowed me to pursue this. But Kuya can never say no to my pretty face. He'd only remember Mom and everybody knows how much of a Mama's boy he is.

Then, Kuya, as the protective brother, after yielding, insisted that I'd go home every day. He volunteered to accompany me going to and from school each day. Thankfully, Tita Chione assured him that I will be safe in the exclusive-for-girls dormitory. Kuya gave in eventually.

Wearing an all-black outfit, I graced the hall of the unfamiliar building. I was greeting everyone with a warm smile even if I do not know them. Some smiled, some looked confused and some just raised their brows at me. But that did not bother me. Ganoon naman talaga madalas sa simula. Pagtitinginan ka kasi bago.

My smile grew wider as I scanned the environment.

So, we're breathing the same air now, Aidon. Just wait and our paths will cross again very soon.

I chuckled when I heard Taylor Swift at the back of my head singing Don't Blame Me.

If I did not care about the stares earlier, I slightly did when everybody's eyes directed at me the moment I entered the room. The big snazzy belt and turtle neck top I was wearing made me felt a little extra for them who were wearing shirts and pants only.

I swallowed the small amount of embarrassment that ran in me. For sure, they are just wondering who I am and what am I doing in their room. Well, it's really strange that someone will transfer at this time, so I have to understand.

I minimized my smile and softened my eyes as I looked for a chair to sit on. Wala pa kasi ang teacher at ayaw ko namang manatiling nasa labas o nakatayo rito sa loob.

In a poised manner, I stepped forward to talk to the nearest person to me. I was about to ask her if someone is sitting on the vacant chair behind hers, when a boy neared and asked me.

"Uh, walang nakaupo riyan, Miss. Puwedeng diyan ka na."

I closed my slightly parted lips, nodded and smiled at him.

"Thank you."

Dumeretso na nga ako sa silya para maupo. Lumapit ang lalaki sa akin kasama ang dalawa pang lalaki. Nakangiti ko silang binalingan.

"Uh, transferee ka?" sabi noong mapayat na lalaking nagbigay ng upuan sa akin.

I nodded quietly. The woman in front of me suddenly looked at us and smiled, so I did.

"Ako nga pala si Luigi."

My eyes widened a fraction at my realization. I forgot to introduce myself to them

"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Raven La Fuente." I said chuckling lightly.

Sunod na nagpakilala ang babae sa harap ko at ang dalawang lalaking nasa tabi ni Luigi. Ang iba ay lumapit para magpakilala rin.

Halos hindi ako makapaniwalang hindi ako mahihirapang makisalamuha sa kanila. Huling-huli na ako sa pagiging parte ng kanilang klase at inasahan kong hindi na sila magiging interesado pang makipagkilala sa akin, pero ilang minuto pa lang akong nakakaupo ay marami nang nakikipag-usap sa akin. Kung hindi pa dumating ang propesor ay baka mas lumalim na agad ang usapan namin. Nakakatuwa naman.
