(Y/N)'s POV
As the days went on, Shinobu nursed you back to health. Your headache lessened and you got some movement back into your shoulder.
One night, while you were trying to sleep, you heard the door peak open. Groggy, you ignored it, expecting Shinobu had just forgotten something in there. "See, she's sleeping. I told you she was doing okay." I heard Shinobu whisper to someone. "I just wanted to see for myself." It was a male voice, it was Giyuu. Immediately, you were awake, but you didn't move, wanting to listen to what he would tell Shinobu "I am picking her as my tsuguko." "Ah!" Shinobu responded. "About time you find yourself one. I know you'll teach her a lot, but I believe there's a lot you can learn from her too, Tomioka."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He replied with a slight attitude. "She has a big heart," Shinobu explained. "Let her help you." You heard the door shut after that. You felt the blood pumping in your head. You were happy that Giyuu was obviously worried about you, but what did Shinobu mean? You were eager to find out.
After two weeks, you were able to begin rehabilitation training. Shinobu explained that she came up with a medicine that quickly healed head injuries. "It's the most common injury us demon slayers have, so I focused on finding a treatment for that!" you recalled her saying, always with a smile.
One more week passed, and you were cleared from the infirmary and could resume missions and training. "I packed all your things up for you. You will be moving to the Water estate so that you can train with Tomioka." Shocked, you replied "Oh...really?" This could get you in trouble. You'd be training with Giyuu, AND living in the same house as him. Ooo la la.
"Don't worry,"Shinobu said, interrupting your thoughts that were headed in an inappropriate direction. "I trust Tomioka to take good care of you, but do me a favor, and try to take care of him too. He is a little rough around the edges, so don't think that he's trying to be rude, if he is stern. It's just who he is." she explained "Okay." you responded shakily.
"And if he hurts your feelings, come talk to me and I'll get him straightened out." That remark made you laugh. "I'll whip him into shape as well!" Both of you laughed as you grabbed your belongings. "Thank you for taking such good care of me Shinobu, I'll come visit you often!"you said to your new friend.
She smiled, "You might wanna get going, Tomioka is probably waiting on you!" Your heart skipped and you exited her office, and then the mansion. You couldn't deny you were nervous. As you walked to his estate, you took deep breaths to calm yourself down.
You walked up to the front door and lifted your hand to knock, but before you could, the door swung open. "Oh, hi Giyuu! I'm good as new!" you said smiling at your new house mate. "Come in." he said.
It smelled homey inside: slightly musky, slightly like nature. "I'm about make some lunch and then we can get training. Have you eaten?" "Uh no," you responded shyly "I'm not picky though" "Good to know," he replied. "I'll show you to your room, can get settled and meet me back in the kitchen when you are ready to eat." "Thank you!" you said sincerely as he walked back in the direction you both came from.
Your room was nice, and you began to unpack your belongings. You found the bathroom where you looked into the mirror and told yourself out loud to calm down. "Why am I so anxious?" You had always been good with guys. You were quite the flirt, but with Giyuu, it was different. You were the one that made guys nervous, but he seemed unbothered. It was you that was nervous this time.
You walked back to find the kitchen where you saw him preparing lunch, as he said he would. "Tea?" he asked. "Yes, hibiscus, if you have some." he nodded as you sat down at the table. He brought you your lunch and the tea you had requested. "Thank you." he nodded in response. "I'd love to help around here too. Just let me know what I can do for you." you said eagerly. "Sure, I imagine we'll find a routine soon. Now, remind me what rank you are?"
"Tsuchinoe." you replied "Great, so your pretty far along. In just a short time, you'll know all 11 forms." "11?!" you burst out, accidentally spitting out some food. You giggled, embarrassed as you cleaned up the small mess you made. "I created one myself. It's extremely useful in blocking any sort of blood demon art attack." he explained. "You just amaze me more and more every day, Giyuu! That's incredible!" he blushed and tried to hide it, but you saw admiring how cute he was. Maybe he was a little nervous.
"Well, you'll be the first to learn." he told me. "What an honor!" you said happily, with a giggle. He looked up at you with a very serious look on his face. "Remember how you said you owed me one?" he asked. "Yes. I do." you replied. "Well this is what I want: I want you to train hard, I want you to use your breath as well as your brain. No more running to toys that'll transport you, just because you'll get to the demon quicker. You have to be 10 steps ahead of whatever demon you are fighting. Falling for their tricks puts you 10 steps behind. Always remember that." "Yes, Giyuu, I promise." you assured him. "I may joke around sometimes, but I swear I will perfect everything you teach me."
"Good," he replied. "we'll start in an hour." Anxiously, you finished up your meal. Once you both were set up to train, you both made your way outside to begin.
