I woke up screaming again, but this time on the couch with Carly, Jess, and Mom looking at me.
"Nightmares again?" They said. Carly and Jess were familiar with my nightmares, I've woken up at their houses screaming before.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said sitting up from the couch. I smirked at the sight of the trashed living room. There was popcorn all over the floor, pillows were scattered all through the house, and the T.V. was still playing the main menu of Breaking Dawn Part Two.
"Well, Carly and I have to go home. We will meet you guys at the docks in a few hours. Bye." Jess said as she and Carly slid on their moccasins and went out the door.
"You better get in the shower, and I will help you pack your bags." My mom said as she went into the kitchen and pulled out the pancake mix.
I went upstairs and into my bathroom, I saw in the mirror that I still had my messy bun in my hair which was beyond repair. I pulled out my bobby pins and hair tie, and turned the faucet on.
I stepped in the shower and let the hot water run down my tired body. This was my last shower in my room for a while.
I put on my galaxy leggings and a blue crop top t-shirt. I slipped on my converse sneakers again, they were my favorite shoes.
I went back into the bathroom and curled my hair. I put on some makeup and looked at myself for a few minutes. I usually don't put this much effort into how I look.
I walked downstairs and my mom looked me up and down.
"You look really cute today!" She said, handing me a stack of pancakes.
I ate slowly. My stomach was being stubborn that morning. I was really nervous, I had never left the U.S. and was really scared to leave my friends and Mom. The only thing that was relaxing me was the thought of being with Mason for a long time.
After I finished my pancakes, I heard a knock on the door. I immediately rush to open it. I know exactly who it is.
I whip open the door and wrap my arms around a tall muscular figure
"Hey beautiful." Mason said as I released from our hug. He was clutching a duffel bag and he had a pair of sunglasses on.
"You look pretty today." He said.
"Thanks! Nice sunglasses." I say as I push them farther up his nose with my nose. He chuckles.
I walk him in and he glares at the trashed living room.
"Wild night I would say." He laughs.
I laugh with him, "Yeah sorry. I still gotta pack."
"Take your time!" He said. He took a seat in the dining room table, my mom set a plate of pancakes in front of him.
"Woah thanks." He said as he started eating.
I walked upstairs and grabbed my lime green suitcase. On it was stickers from the past places Mom and I have went. There was a palm tree sticker that had Hollywood printed in big letters on it. On that trip, Carly, Jess, and I met Taylor Swift and we got a picture with her. It was printed and sat on my nightstand.
Another sticker had Mount Rushmore on it when I went to North Dakota. And there was another one with Mickey Mouse on it from when I went to Disney World in Florida.
The last one was when my mom and I went to Arizona for the gymnastics nationals tournament. I was really into gymnastics when I was little.
I pack all my summer clothes, my favorite sweatshirt, all my converse sneakers, my bikini, my photo albums, my beauty supplies, and cat and dog toys. I was not going to just leave all of my family behind.
I walked back down the stairs carrying a fat suit case and two animal kennels, plus I had sunglasses on so my vision was dulled.
I stumbled on the last step and fell on Mason, who was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. I dropped my bags and laughed into Mason's chest.
"You two are just too adorable." My mom said sweetly.
"I'm just clumsy." I laughed again.
I noticed George was laughing in the dining room.
"Are you coming to the dock with us?" I asked.
"Of course. Why would I miss this." He laughed more.
My mom took a picture of Mason and I and we shoved all our bags into my mom's van. I put Lilly and Flame in their kennels and we all cram into the car and off we went.
It was a peaceful ride until I see a white car pull up beside us. I see Carly driving and Jess in the passenger seat and they are waving frantically. Jess looks at my face and hair and gives me a thumbs up, telling me that I look good.
We pull into the dock parking lot and Carly parks right next to us. As soon as I got out I was bombarded with hugs.
"We are going to miss you so much!" They said.
"I love your leggings. Your ass looks out of this world." Jess said laughing. I laughed too, it was corny but funny.
"Okay we have to get a picture with you!" Carly said. She pulled out her cell phone and switched the camera to selfie mode. She held the camera up and they both put their lips on my cheeks.
"Wait no! Don't-" I yelled. But it was too late.
"Click... BOOM!" Carly's phone shattered into hundreds of tiny pieces. They both stood there with their mouths open and their eyes wide, they looked like fish.
Mason was doubled over laughing, I was too. I gotta tell people not to kiss me or bad things would happen.
"Oh my god Carly I'm so sorry I will buy you a new one!" I said while I was still laughing.
"What the hell just happened!" She yelled, kind of laughing too.
"I'm sorry I can't really explain it. Just don't kiss me." I said laughing even more.
We stopped our laughing session and Mom lead us to our boat. It was a good sized vessel with a few rooms, a captain control room, and a small kitchen.
The captain greeted us with a big smile, "Hello there!" He shook everybody's hands, "Whenever you're ready, we can set sail. The trip will take about two days, if the weather is nice, the boat goes pretty fast."
I turn to Carly and Jess, I give them huge hugs and they start to cry.
"I'm going to miss you guys." I said, with a tear coming down my face too.
I turn to my mom who is crying harder than anyone. I wrap my arms around her to comfort her.
"Please be careful, Paige. I love you more than anything." I start to cry more.
I release from our hug and look at George.
"Take care of my mother. If something happens to me you are all she has left." I said sternly. He wraps his arms around me unexpectedly. He smelled like grease and pancakes.
"Of course I will." He said softly. I hug him back.
After all my goodbyes, Mason, the captain, and I all crawled on the boat and he started the engine. I waved to everybody until I couldn't see their faces anymore, and I hoped that that wasn't the last time I saw them.More chapters coming soon! Go check out my new book Immune!
