"Grandma?" I said to my ceiling. I was sitting up in my bed with my blanket covering my legs. I was thinking over all the things I did that day. It still seemed unreal how much power I held within my body.
It was sunset, but I was really tired from all the work I did. I really just wanted to sleep with my pets.
"Thank you for writing me that letter. I would have been lost without it. I feel like a whole new person now. I feel complete, thanks to you." I paused and smiled to her.
"I did a lot of good things today. It felt great to help those people. The look on all of their faces when Mason and I led all of those healed people out of the hospital was so precious. I loved seeing those two people that were on the bench be reunited with Lindy.
I also multiplied all of the medicine supplies. They have enough to last for years now. And that small stream that was in the city is now a giant river full of refreshing water. I made a new pipeline system, so now we can take long warm showers."
I sighed and laid my head back on my pillow, "I just have one question. What do you mean by trust no one?"
I closed my eyes and ended my conversation with her, "Anyways. Watch over Mom and George. I love you."
I was about to drift off to sleep when the sound of a door opening made my eyes shoot open.
"Man...Those showers are amazing now. Hey would you be up for- oh... Oops." Mason stood by my bed, his hair was wet from a shower. I could smell the fresh soap on him.
"What's up?" I said yawning. I flung the covers off of my body and swung my feet over the bedside.
"No. It's alright. I just wanted to take you somewhere before the sun set. If you are tired then that's fine." He said. I could detect the sadness in his voice.
"I can go. You're making me curious anyways." I said to him.
"Okay." His smile grew on his face as he took my hand and pulled me off of the bed. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I buried my face in his chest as he rested his lips on my head.
"It's the least I can do for you. I have been dragging you around all day. I feel like I'm using you." I said in his chest. He lightly puts his hand under my chin and pulls up my face so we were looking at each other.
"You are not using me. I am perfectly fine with helping you with your power. Do not worry about a thing beautiful." He assured me. He leaned in to kiss me on the forehead, but I stopped his lips from hitting my skin.
"In the letter, I also found out that being kissed by a loved one can cause something crazy, so watch it pretty boy." I said, giggling at his disappointed face.
"Awww man. But you are just too cute to not kiss!" He stated. He emphasized the 'cute' so it had two syllables. I bit my lip to keep myself from squealing at his comment. I found myself doing that a lot.
"Are we going or not?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, right." He turned towards the door and opened it swiftly. He stepped aside and bowed like a doorman. I giggled at how cute he looked.
"Step this way, ma' lady." He said, gesturing out the door.
"You're such a dork." I said, flicking his nose as I passed him. I felt a pair of fingers begin to tickle my sides, making me jump and squeal.
"Mason! I hate being tickled! Stop!" I yelled, laughing uncontrollably.
"I try to be a gentlemen, and this is what I get!" He yelled jokingly. He pinned me against the wall, trapping me from either side. I couldn't escape his hands. My stomach began to hurt from laughing so hard.
"Don't make me burn you again!" I shouted. He immediately stopped and backed away with his hands in the air.
"Alright alright. I'm sorry." He said laughing.
"You guys are so adorable." A voice to my right made me jump, I turned my head to see Stella leaning her side against the wall with her arms crossed.
"Jesus mom you scared me!" Mason yelled. Stella giggled and walked into the living room.
"Where are you guys going off to?" She asked us.
"I was just taking Paige to the garden." Mason said. I could hear her gasp from the hallway.
"Oh! She will love it there! Have fun." She said. I walked to the door and slipped back on my vans. Mason lead me outside the house. I expected him to walk through the street, but he turned around and walked behind the house.
"Where are you going?" I shouted to him from the front door.
"To the garden duh! Come on slowpoke!" He shouted back. I ran to catch up with him.
I was surprised at how much space was behind the house. There was a stone path that was surrounded by giant beautiful willow trees, at the end of the path was a rock wall. I reached out and touched the dropping leaves as I walked.
"Woah. This is awesome." I said, "Mason! Where are you!"
"Down here!" I heard a voice by the wall. I ran down the path and stopped next to Mason, who was standing next to the wall.
"This place is so cool." I said to him.
"Yeah, your aunt made it. She hid the trees so you couldn't see them from the front of the house. Lots of people come here just to relax."
"I can see why."
"There's something else that's cool about this place too." He said, "You see this wall?" He pointed his finger at the wall. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Noooo, I'm blind." I said, crossing my arms.
"I can literally taste your sarcasm miss sassy." He said, cocking his head at me.
"Anyways, what's so special about this wall?" I asked.
"It's not actually a wall." He said. He patted the surface, and I could hear how hollow it was.
He felt across the wall for a certain edge. When he found a crevice, he ripped part of the wall away to reveal a large hole.
"Step in." He said. I gladly went through the passage, and was blown away with what I saw.
I feasted my eyes upon a perfect view of a blazing orange sunset falling over the ocean waves. My shoes started to sink into the white sand.
"Wow... This is amazing. So it's like a shortcut to the beach?" I asked Mason, who was now standing next to me.
"Nooooo." He said, mocking my sarcasm. I slapped his arm.
"Oh stop." I said. I slipped off my shoes, and began running to the water.
"Race you to the waves!" I shouted. I could already hear him behind me, trying to catch up with me. I pulled my shirt off of me and flung it in the sand before plunging my legs in the water. It was freezing, but it felt good on my sore feet.
I would cherish that exact moment for the rest of my life. It felt amazing to be able to be in such a beautiful setting, and Mason being there with me just made it even better.
I was swept off of my feet unexpectedly and spun around in the waves. Mason set me back down after he thought I was annoyed enough.
"Geez. You're gonna make me sick one of these days!" I shouted at him. He just stood there looking at me without a shirt. I noticed him smirking a little at the ends of his lips.
"What's wrong? Ever seen a bra before? It's just like a swimsuit. I still have shorts on perv." I said.
"It's just like you looking at my abs all the time!" He laughed. I turned to look at his muscles without his shirt on. I had to admit, they did look amazing.
"See! You are like drooling!" He said.
"So are you!" I shouted back.
"But you are more!" He argued back.
"Oh then should I go put my shirt back on then?" I said, gesturing to my top on the ground.
"Nono it's fine." He said, putting his arms out to keep me from moving closer to my shirt.
"That's what I thought." I said cockily.
"I love how smart-assy you are." He said, putting an arm on either side of me.
"I love you in general." I said, hugging him back.----
I stood on the stone pathway, watching Mason put the wall piece back in place. My hair was slick with salt water and my vans were covered in sand. It was late night now, and Mason and I had spent a long time messing around on the beach.
"I had so much fun babe." Mason said as he advanced towards me.
"Yeah me too." I said. Mason's eyes shined in the bright moonlight. The night I just spent with him made me want to embrace him even more. The more I am with him, the more he drives me wild with his comments.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and played with his wet blonde hair. He wrapped his arms around me in response.
"What are you doing?" Mason asked me as I pulled him closer to me. I didn't know what was getting into me. Something in me just wanted him to come closer, like I wasn't satisfied with the space between us.
"It's weird how we haven't kissed yet." I said. I stared at his soft pink lips, urging to put mine against his. I giggled at how his face lit up at what I said.
"Finally." He said before putting a hand on the back of my neck. He pulled my face in closer to his and I felt a wave of amazing emotions as his lips crashed into mine.
I kissed a few other guys before that, but nothing felt the way I felt when Mason kissed me. He drove my insides wild. Electricity surged through me as our bodies moved with one another.
I opened my mouth a little to let him slip his tongue past my lips, he did the same. He pushed my neck harder, and he gripped my lower back with his other arm. I heard things shaking and rumbling around me, but I didn't care. All my attention was on our amazing kiss.
Even though I didn't want to, I released his lips for air. We just looked at each other, our faces close, smiling at one another. I loved the look in his face. It looked so satisfied and happy that he finally got to kiss me. I was mad at myself for not doing it sooner.
My attention went from his glowing face to the rumbling trees around us. They began to shimmer as their leaves twirled uncontrollably. Finally, all the leaves popped off and rained on us like confetti. Mason and I laughed to each other.
"Woah." Mason finally said.
"I wish we did that sooner." I laughed.
"I love you so damn much Paige. Don't you ever forget that." He said as he embraced me in a warm hug.
"How could I ever forget." I said back.
We twisted our fingers together and walked back to the house.
"Wait!" I said before we left the path. I turned to face the bare trees.
"They look so bland now. Hold on." I tossed my hand up and waved it in the direction of the trees. I watched in amazement as their leaves slowly grew back out of the branches with just the flick of my wrist. I still loved using my power.
"Nice." Mason said over my shoulder.
When we got back into the house, everyone was sleeping. I was more than happy to finally be able to rest after this awesome day.
"Will you sleep with me?" I whispered to Mason.
"I was going to anyway." He smirked in the darkness.
I walked into my room with Mason trailing behind me. I threw off my shorts and crawled in the bed next to Mason. I still had my wet bra on, and i could see the water prints it made on my shirt. He wrapped his arms around my waist. I turned my body so I was facing him, and we just laid there in comfortable silence.
"Goodnight beautiful." He whispered. I leaned in to kiss him again, but he stopped me. I looked back at him, wide eyed.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"It's the middle of the night, I don't want anything to happen and wake people.
"I can control it." I said assuringly. I leaned in again, and this time, Mason did too.
We kissed passionately again, and I intently focused my energy on making sure everything stayed in one piece. Shockingly, we released from our moment and nothing happened.
"Hey, It worked." I said.
"Now I can kiss you whenever I want." Mason said confidently. I rolled my eyes and snuggled into his chest, his steady heartbeat pulling me into sleep.----
I was sitting in dirt, I didn't know why. I could see nothing but the blue sky above me, and the dirt ground.
Out of nowhere, giant green plants shot up from the dirt, making me jump up. I watched as they started to grow giant tomatoes on them.
"What does this mean?" I said.
I looked around until I caught a glimpse of a man running towards me. I tried to run away, but I was stuck in place.
As he got closer, I saw he had short brown hair, khakis, and a green shirt. His eyes were pitch black, and his stare was cutting through me.
When he finally reached me, he reached out his arms and thrashed at me with his fists. my vision went black, and all I could hear was his evil laughs.-------
I'm sorry if this chapter wasn't that interesting, I just wanted to show the connection between Paige and Mason better, to show that they actually love each other. Kay.... Bye! More chapters coming up!
