I spent a few minutes just watching the water flow beside the moving boat. I was interrupted by the sound of Mason talking to the captain.
"Your rooms are down these stairs, there's a waste room for the animals."
"Thank you." Mason said as he grabbed our bags and carried them down the stairs. I clutched the two kennels and carried them down also.
Mason insisted on me taking the bigger room, so I set my suitcase on my bed and set the two kennels on the floor.
I opened the kennel doors and two fuzz balls came zooming out. Flame started spazzing around the room with her tail fluffed so much, she looked like a squirrel. Lilly was sniffing everything she could find.
I plopped on my bed and sighed deeply, I had no idea what was going to happen when I got to Africa. Would the people hate me for leaving? Or love me for coming back? The biggest question I was asking myself was, what powers do I have?
It drives you crazy to know that you can do something amazing but don't know how do do it.
Mason knocks on my door. I sit up and yell for him to come in.
"Hey beautiful." He says with a smile, it was contagious.
He plopped on the bed and sighed like I did.
"Are you sure you are okay with all this?" He said with a look on his face I haven't seen yet. It looked like a mix of guilt and concern.
"Kinda too late now." I said laughing, trying to make him happier. Even though his sad puppy dog face is extremely adorable, I didn't like seeing him sad. I really was okay with going to Africa, I needed a little adventure in my life, I thought I was too boring.
He sat up and put his hand on my neck, I had to bite my lip to keep myself from squealing.
"I just don't want you to regret this. I feel like I'm forcing this on you..." He said, he trailed off for a few seconds, "God you have beautiful eyes Paige, I can't stop looking at them!"
There's no way he really means that, I thought, my eyes are as dull as a used crayon. But his eyes were like two diamonds shoved into his eye sockets, being that close them was lethal.
"Oh you're just saying that!" I blushed, "My eyes are dull as crap. You could light a fire with yours."
"Oh no way, you need to see yourself the way I see you."
"Oh whatever." I say rolling my eyes.
His hand doesn't move from my neck, "No but seriously, are you okay with this?"
Mason, of course I am! Why would I be here then! I wanna see where my family lived, teach these dogs a lesson!" I said, getting up from the bed and punching the air with my fists, this made him laugh his adorable laugh that I wanted to hear.
I sat back on the bed and ran my hand through his thick blonde hair. It was so soft I could sleep in it.
"Most of all... I wanna be with you." I said smiling, "and your hair."
He chuckled, "You are amazing Paige," he said, pulling me closer to him. His hands wrapped around my waist, "You are the girl I have been waiting for my whole life. I love you."
Those words sent shivers down my back, "I love you too!" I said.
"God I wish I could kiss you right now. But I don't want anything exploding." He chuckled.
"I don't care." I said. I just wanted to feel his soft lips against mine, I didn't care what exploded or lit up.
I leaned in for a kiss, my heart started to lift. Our lips were just about to touch when a loud sound made me fall off the bed. The boat horn blasted in our ears. Flame and Lilly jumped up and the hairs on their backs stood out. Mason and I laughed really hard at our almost kiss.
"I can't believed that just happened!" I managed to say while laughing, tears starting to come out of my eyes.
Mason lifted me off the floor and pushed me against the wall, his hands finding my hips. His breath felt hot against my face. I put my hands on his neck.
"How did I get so lucky to have such a gorgeous girlfriend." He said as he looked me up and down, biting his lip.
My eyes widened at the word girlfriend, "Girlfriend! So this is like a real thing?"
Mason rolls his eyes, "Of course it is!"
We were interrupted by something fuzzy rubbing our feet. I looked down to see Flame wanting attention. I let go of Mason and picked up my cat. Mason gave me a puppy dog face.
"You're leaving me for a cat!" He said chuckling.
"Yup," I said while cuddling my purring kitty, "you can leave now! I'm just gonna be with my cat!"
We both laughed.
After a while of joking around and talking about the most random things, I started to feel a little hot in the small stuffy room.
"It's getting kind of hot in here, we should go up to the dock and cool off." I suggested. Mason nodded his head. I could see the sweat on his forehead.
I took off my sweaty leggings and opened my luggage bag to find my daisy dukes and flip flops, not caring that Mason was still in the room.
I could see him watching me and smiling.
"You are so gorgeous." He said seductively. I giggled as he put his arms around my torso.
"You're not so bad yourself." I said laughing.
He took off his sweaty shirt and I practically melted. His arms were so muscular and his stomach had a very visible six pack. He had the V line on his hips that all girls go crazy for. I couldn't hold back my squeal.
I immediately felt his stomach, you could break a skull on it. I pulled him closer to me.
"You definitely are not so bad yourself." I said with a smirk.
We walked up the stairs and on the deck. The sun shined bright overhead. The ocean breeze hit my face and I smiled, inhaling the misty wind. I held out my arms and twirled. I felt so free, like I could just fly away from all my worries.
Mason and I just sat on the dock for a long time, watching the clouds drift by. We got in a long argument about what is the best name for a boy and girl. I was determined on Haylie and Bruce, but he really liked Jordan and Nathan. In the end we just decided to keep having kids until we get two boys and two girls.
We talked to the captain, and had fun learning how to steer the boat and what all the controls were used for.
We ate a really good lunch that the captain made us, baked potatoes and pulled pork.

At the end of the day, the sunset shined bright oranges and pinks in the clouds. Mason fell asleep with his arms around me. I didn't want to disturb him, so I slipped from his grasp and went down stairs. I slipped on my pajama shorts. And got under the covers on the bed. Lilly and Flame curled up by my feet. I drifted off to sleep.

I was walking through hot sand, my face and body was covered in blood and dirt. I had a ripped dress on and it felt really hard to walk.
I turned around to see a dog, running at lightning speed towards me. Since I had no weapon, I tried to run away from it, but I couldn't run, no matter how hard I tried.
The dog jumped on my back, ripping open my neck and shoulder. It's claws dug into my back as I screamed loudly.
I turned around to face the dog. It's eyes shined a dark green in my head as I blacked out. I heard that woman's voice once again.
