I woke up in the school nurse office. There was a bandage on my head, and it felt sore and it hurt to move my neck. My mom and the guy from the bus were standing in front of me. I forced myself to sit up, I looked at my mom and the bus guy, waiting for an explanation. I didn't really remember what happened.
"Are you feeling okay?" My mom finally said, her soft comforting voice helping me to relax.
"My head really hurts," I managed to say, "who are you?" I gestured to the guy. Looking into his eyes made me feel bubbly inside. His sharp jawline was covered in a light aftershave.
"I'm Mason. I saw you get hit in the head and I carried you to the nurse. You're Paige, right?"
"Yes." His eyes lit up even brighter and they started to twinkle a bit, they showed so much emotion, definitely better than his face did.
"I'm new here. I came from Af- um wait no... I meant Michigan oops." He chuckles a bit, it was so small and cute I just had to smile.
A nurse comes in through the front door, she examined my head and had me do a few tests to make sure I didn't have a concussion.
"Okay, you can go home and get some rest. Your head will be healed in a few days. Mason, you can go back to class." She said firmly. Mason headed for the door. My mom thanked him for taking care of me, I did too.
"Gladly!" He said with a wide smile, my heart jumped. His smile was just as perfect as the rest of him. When can this guy ever not be perfect! I thought.

The rest of that day, I laid in my bed cuddling my dog and my cat as I dreamed about Mason and how much fun it was going to be to get to know him my senior year. I knew that the year was going to be full of surprises... And I was right.
