--------
wake up to the sight of Mason shaking my shoulder lightly. He turned on the nightstand lamp as I burst up from my pillow and gasp for air. My heart is beating really fast and my forehead was coated with sweat.
As I sat there, breathing heavily, Mason rubbed my back muttering, "It's okay, I'm here now, breathe..."
I turned around and wrapped my arms around him, taking deep breaths into his chest.
It was the middle of the night, and I woke up Mason with my screams.
"Sorry..." I whispered, "I get nightmares. Lately they have been more vivid and scary."
"I understand," he said softly, "will you be okay now?"
I didn't want him to leave. He really helped slow my heartbeat, and the smell on his blue t-shirt was so amazing, I could bathe in it.
"Could you um, stay in here with me?" I mumbled.
His eyes lit up in the dim light of my lamp, "I was hoping you would ask that." He smiles widely as we settle in the bed together. He wrapped his arm around my waist, I scooted closer so my back was touching his muscular chest and stomach, he held my hand with his other arm. We fit like two puzzle pieces. Becoming one, and finding the person that perfectly fits with us.
He kissed my hand that was intertwined in his, "Sweet dreams, beautiful." He whispered.
The dim lamp that was lit on the nightstand in front of us popped loudly, making us jump. I chuckled quietly.
"Oops, I forgot." Mason chuckled too.
I was about to fall asleep again when a thought struck me, "Do you think that has anything to do with my powers?" I asked Mason.
"I don't know, maybe?" Mason answered.
"We will find out. Goodnight Mason." I said as I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep in his embrace, with no bad dreams.--
I was awoken by the amazing smell of blueberries and cream cheese. I sit up from the bed, inhaling the fresh scent. Flame jumps on my lap and purrs affectionately. I was rubbing her back when I realized that Mason wasn't in my bed.
I lifted up Flame and walked out of my room. I followed the wonderful scent all the way to the kitchen, where there stood a puffy eyed Mason, flipping blueberry crepes in a pan on a small stove.
The way he looked in the morning was extremely attractive. His messy blonde hair draped over his sleepy face, and his bright blue eyes had small puffy circles under them. I wanted to wake up to that face every day.
"Good morning beautiful!" He says when he sees me. He gives me a warm smile and hugs my waist.
"Good morning," I say while yawning, "I didn't know that you could make crepes."
"Oh yeah. My mom taught me." He said. He took the pan off the stove and placed a crepe on three plates. He handed me one and a fork.
"Can you take that one to the captain?" He asked politely.
"Sure." I smiled. I walked down the hall and up the stairs to the captain, who was sitting a chair, watching the steering wheel. I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and smiled widely. I handed him the crepe and he happily took it.
"Good morning!" I said with a grin.
"Good morning! Thank you!" He said, not wiping the smile off his face.
I walked back to the kitchen, where Mason was finishing up his plate.
I sat in the chair across from him at the kitchen table and began tearing into the crepe.
It tasted so sweet and creamy, the crust was perfectly flaked, and I even dragged my finger across the plate to pick up the last of the blueberry cream.
"Wow, you make a really good crepe." I said as I slipped my plate in the sink.
Mason put his arms around me and I responded with a hug around his neck.
"What should we do today?" I asked.
"I'm not sure." He said with a puzzled look.
The boat was starting to get boring, which made my anticipation for Africa rise even more.
Mason and I just decided to lay in my bed and just try not to fall asleep from being bored.
I had my head on his chest and my left leg was draped over his legs. Flame was laying by our feet, and Lilly was curled in a ball beside us. I thought that was funny because of how big she was, and she just looked so cute in a giant ball.
We laid there and talked all day, just thinking about how crazy life is. We had the most random topics, and just rambled on about it for hours until we finally stopped talking about it. I raided the fridge in the kitchen and found a box of Oreos. We ate cookies and talked all day.
It started to get stuffy in the room again, so we stepped outside for a while.
I didn't realize how long we were trapped in that little room. Outside was a beautiful array of sparking stars. you could see it so clearly, I could see the different colors of the galaxy in the sky. I couldn't believe how pretty it was.
"I saw this when I was riding to New York," Mason said, pulling my thoughts away from the stars, "beautiful isn't it?"
All I could do was nod my head. I couldn't tear my eyes away.
We spent the rest of the night just laying on the deck, staring at the beautiful sky. We both fell asleep in each others arms.--
"Paige! Get up! You have to see this."
Mason was shaking my shoulder for me to get up. I groaned and turned my head away from the blazing sunlight above us. It takes a bulldozer to get me up in the morning.
"Paige! C'mon!" Mason actually lifted me off our laying spot. I was forced to put my arms in his neck so I didn't fall out of his arms.
"What." I groaned, I still couldn't open my eyes in the sunlight.
"Look." He said cheerfully. I tried to opened my eyes a small way until they got used to the light. I looked past the boat to see a large coastline covered in white sand and gorgeous clear waters. I gasped.
Mason watched my reaction and he said three words that woke me up instantly.
"Welcome to Africa."I hope you enjoyed! :):):):)
