I Am Here

The forceful gale that tears the trees, that is a fairy's rage. The whistling wind that brings the rain, that is a fairy's tears. The joyful draught, dancing through the leaves, that is a fairy's laughter. The gentle breeze that guides the heart, that is the fairy song.

"I Am Here." I sagged in mid-air, relieved. All Might was here, he could save everyone. He wasn't smiling, I took notice of. Was he okay? Why wouldn't he be here in the first place, and what did doing three hours of hero work have to do with that? Maybe, just maybe...

Was it possible All Might had a time limit? I had no idea what on, but maybe he would only be able to do a limited amount of work a day. Which means, if he was here when he couldn't be before, he was pushing past him limits and going beyond. I smiled. That was Plus Ultra.

It also meant that he might need help, so I flew down to join him, quickly briefing him on the current state of the children and Eraserhead in a few words.

"1A is relatively safe. Eraserhead is in bad shape, but he's safe with Uraraka and the others. Thirteen is badly wounded." He nodded.

"You go gather the rest of the students, and make sure they're safe." I hesitated.

"What about you?"

"I'll be fine." I wasn't sure of that, but he was right; the rest of my class had to be safe before we could do anything else.

"Evacuate the kids. That includes you, Titania." His expression softened slightly. "The reason we asked you to come to U.A, wasn't that we thought you needed the training. We believed you needed a life, as mean as that sounds. Since a young age you've gone through trauma no-one should have to go through, then you picked a profession that would only bring you more." He smiled again, his grin stretching his features.

"So go have fun, be a kid. Because technically, you still are one." He walked towards the villains, leaving me in a stunned silence. I quickly flew upwards, perching on a beam in the roof. I should be down there helping. I shouldn't be here thinking, putting my classmates in danger. My eyes drifted downwards.

I choked on tears I hadn't realised were flowing at the horrific scene in front of me. Bakugou had the mist guy pinned, the Nomu half frozen, bending backwards through a portal, All Might in his grasp, in the same position, bleeding. Todoroki, the path of ice that encased the Nomu trailing back to his foot.

In a split second, everything moved. The Nomu recovered, ran at Bakugou, All Might a blur, pushing him out of the way and taking the hit. I couldn't breath; I needed to be down there, but my vision was already going back. The screams, the voices started again, images flashing on the edges of my blackening vision. My brother,  shaking in pain, two rips on his back where his beautiful wings used to sit, tears rolling down his face as he watched Elaine scream. My mother dying, pulling him in her, and hugging him. My father's body, discarded a way off, his wings held triumphantly in the air by the thug that had taken them. The same images from that day we had the quirk assessment.

I could feel the pain from my leg and lower back. I felt myself slip from the perch on the roof. Falling backwards down to Earth.

No.

My wings spread at the last second, and I flew at my classmates who were watching All Might.

"COME ON, GUYS. WE NEED TO GET BACK TO THE ENTERANCE." They whipped around as they heard my voice, and I didn't notice the stabbing pain in my leg.

"But-"

"No buts Midoriya. Come on, NOW!" I circled around them, herding them towards the entrance.

"BUT ALL MIGHT!" He cried out.

"YES, HE'S THE ONE WHO TOLD ME TO DO THIS! SO COME!"

"Only if you come with us." Todoroki placed his hand on my shoulder, and I relaxed the slightest bit.

"He told me that too." My voice was a whisper, as another tear rolled silently, unnoticed down my face. Todoroki raised a finger as if to brush it away, but hesitated and dropped it.

"Okay. Let's go. All Might will be fine." He turned, and started walking to the entrance. I flashed him a grateful smiled, and he nodded.

We were half way there when I noticed Midoriya wasn't there, like he was a second ago. I turned, seeing him about to punch the mist guy, when a hand appeared out of nowhere.

"No... MIDORIYA!" I started to run back when I felt something break. I heard Todoroki shouting. I turned to see a random thug from the League of Villains lying next to me, a knife slightly raised. I turned the slightest bit more. My eyes widened and welled with tears.

I faintly heard someone screaming. It sounded a lot like my voice, but the blanket of pain that had settled over me prevented my senses from working properly.

A cut went from about an inch from the top of my left wing diagonally down, stopping a few millimetres from the base of it. It had been inches from being cut off completely. The black form before clouded my vision, agony tearing through every fibre of my body. My leg, I could feel the splintered bone inside, the cut on my lower back still bleeding, my wing drooping on my back.

I felt strong arms gather me up, and the faint rhythm of rushed footsteps. I heard the faint buzzing of voices before I blacked out.
