The forceful gale that tears the trees, that is a fairy's rage. The whistling wind that brings the rain, that is a fairy's tears. The joyful draught, dancing through the leaves, that is a fairy's laughter. The gentle breeze that guides the heart, that is the fairy song.

Lots of Shoto fluff here :)

Y/N POV

I squiggled into my sleeping bag, exhausted. I didn't want to sleep, for fear of the nightmares retaking me, but my body wouldn't listen to the protests of my brain. Slowly, as my eyelids fluttered shut the darkness closed in on me, figures already coming into view.

"Y/n- please, hide, survive." My mother's voice sounded, the but I couldn't see her. All i could see was black.

"Mom, where are you? Let me help, I can save you, I've gotten stronger, this time I'll beat him-"

"No, Y/n, you have you go! Keep the fairy race alive!"  My father's voice joined my mother's, as I searched desperately around the expanse of black.

"Y/n... I'm sorry." I gasped.

"KING! I'm here, you can survive this, you will survive this-"

"Y/n. Why didn't you save us?" I stopped.

"E-Elaine?"

"Y/n. You were right there. You led the villains to us. You're a coward, a fake hero. It's your fault we're dead." I clutched my head.

"N-No, Elaine would never say that. She's a caring, sweet little girl-"

"Was. She's dead now, because of you." The tears spilled over the edge, unable to be held in anymore.

"It's your fault, Y/n. You should ju-"

"Y/n, wake up." My eyes jolted open, met with worried heterochromatic ones. I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sh-Shoto."

"Are you okay?" He whispered, his voice laced with concern.

"Y-yeah? Why?" I drew my hand up to my face, before looking at it. Tears glistened on the finger. i sighed.

"I guess I can't lie to you." I smiled softly, as he patted my shoulder awkwardly.

"Come here." His voice was still soft, and it wasn't a command. He wasn't forcing me to, which I appreciated. As I shuffled over to him, I felt a hairbrush go through my hair. I smiled, remembering the first time he'd done this.

I sat there with him, and after a few moments he spoke.

"Another nightmare?"

"Yeah." He continued brushing my hair, the rhythmic strokes lulling me into a sense of calmness. Then a thought struck me.

"Where did you get the hairbrush?" He paused, and I turned my head to look at him inquisitively.

"Oh. I went into the top draw in the bathroom downstairs and found it. You didn't seem to be sleeping very well, so I figured I'd grab it just in case." I turned back around, and he resumed his brushing.

"Do you want to talk about it?" His voice was gentle, the normally monotonous words filled with such emotion that it seemed to spill over into me. The care he felt warmed me, and I closed my eyes, relaxing into him.

"Maybe later." I whispered back, and he got the hint. Reaching 100 strokes, he placed the hairbrush down next to him, as we were positioned in the corner and there was nowhere else to put it.
