Yongguk's POV.

How could I let this happen? She's gone now. On another planet. Far away. It makes no sense! Why did they choose to target her? Why? Sara was just an ordinary girl, well, normal as far as knowing aliens goes, but still.

My mind burns with ideas and memories as I trudge through the nearby woods. The leaves on the trees are changing their once vibrant green color to yellow. Some leaves have already disconnected themselves from their branches as they now lay dead and dried out on the forest floor which swarms with small insects and dark dirt.

Everything has a sad feeling to it. The weather seems bitterly colder than before and the grey sky speaks for the feeling inside my body.

Stopping for a second to try and recollect my sanity, I slide down the bark of a tree as I pull my knees up to my chest.

    Silence.

Silence is all that surrounds me. The usual hustle and bustle of the woodland animals is nowhere to be heard or seen for that matter. The forest seems almost empty despite the sound of the shaking of leaves as the wind blows calmly.

"Sara, I'm so sorry," I speak aloud, my voice hoarse and rough, "I wasn't able to save you. Understand, though, that I'm not going down without a fight. We will join together again soon; we just have to be careful. If I make any wrong moves, well, my whole life will be crushed worse than it is now."

Once again, there's another wave of silence. The wind has disappeared, but is replaced by rain. As the raindrops hit my skin, I don't bother to move--to get out of the rain. I continue to sit there, against the tree trunk as the rain continues to hit me.

"Even the angels are crying," I think to myself as I look up at the sky.

It's strange. Usually, there's no rain when we are making the transition into autumn, so why is it raining now? Is it to justify my feelings? Is it to increase the sadness of today?

Nothing makes any sense, but I do know everything has changed. The weather's changed from calm and happy to an ominous feel. My heart's changed. I chose to close it temporarily--to cut off the feelings, but so far, it's not working. The sadness overruns the once happy feeling and the pain seems to travel throughout my body now.

Feeling a little lightheaded, I realize it's from breathing too quickly. As I try to set my pace back to normal, I continue to watch the rain fall. It seems as if it is moving in slow motion. Really, everything seems that way.

Lightning lights the sky and I decide that I should begin to head back. Picking myself up slowly from the ground, the rain slowly starts to calm down.

"This weather is so strange," I speak to myself.

As I begin to walk, the rain comes to a complete stop and the sun reveals itself from behind the clouds. Still, the atmosphere is quiet except for one sound--the cry of baby birds.

Looking to my left, I see a small birds nest lying on the ground with a few small birds crying. I look around to find the mother bird is nowhere in sight, so bending down, I carefully scoop the birds nest into my hands and secure it back on the branch it had fallen off of.

Immediately, the cries of the birds are silenced as the mother flies back to feed them.

Seeing this does something to my heart. I feel as if this is a sign--a sign that she will be saved by me. Just like the baby birds.
