Chapter 16: Moving Forward

[A/n: let's just say, pun intended ;) ]

Time travel a few weeks later

Harvey's P.O.V:

I see him.

Standing right there.

He had something in his hands.

That belonged to me.

Or I guess once belonged to me.

We both lock eyes, our stares turned cold as ice and my feet make my way to him, step by step.

My fists were curled, tighter and tighter the closer I got to him. I crack my knuckles and as I walked, we never broke the stare.

But I stop in my tracks. I knew it was the wrong thing to do.

I walked away and headed to a particular classroom.

I held her hand and brought her to where they were.

I held her chin by the tip of my fingers and kissed her aggressively.

I let go after a while and I smirked at Payton.

"I was already one step ahead of you." I gave him an evil smile and slipped my hand around Loren's waist and walked away.

They both were jaw-dropped. No one saw this coming.

-

After school

I walked home, with my hand around her waist.

I walked her home before planting a quick kiss on her forehead. But this time, I wasn't going to say goodbye.

"I'll see you in an hour?" She smiles.

I nod and she kissed me on the cheek, which left my cheeks burning and I walked back to the apartment I dreaded being in for weeks now.

It was time I had to leave.

I grabbed my suitcase, dumped everything in and took out my ring.

I found the box it once belonged in and placed it in an envelope. I sealed it tight and wrote down an address.

To Payton.

There was a note inside that I left too, don't worry.

"Hi Payton. I know you've been obsessed with her for months now, so she's all yours. Also, take this ring, you probably want to get married happily with her ASAP. She's all yours now, so it's up to you if you want to marry her, get her pregnant, whatever. I'm no longer part of this anymore.

P.S: told you I was a nice person. :)"

I dropped the mail into the mailbox and off it went, ready to arrive at this doorstep to give him a horrific surprise.

The luggage was loaded into the trunk of my car and I drove off from the place I never wanted to ever remember, and back to where I first started off.

My old apartment.

-

I opened the door and it smelled the exact same, nothing much as changed. My bed, it was still intact and my bathroom still had a broken tap, which I need to fix soon.

The couch I used to laze around in and contemplate life decisions never changed. It was still there, for more procrastination perhaps.

How I missed this place.

I closed the door behind me and opened up the curtains.

Home sweet home.

I unpacked everything and settled myself back into the place I had always called home.
