Chapter 2: Goodbyes

Loren's P.O.V:

Few months later

It's almost the end of the year and things have changed around here.

I have decided to stay single despite some boys coming up to me with their love confessions. I don't trust them anymore. All thanks to that George. And I'm not saying they were bad, because one of them who confessed to me was actually back then, my crush.

Riley has been bullying me a lot, alongside George, who somehow managed to bribe the principal to let him off with just a warning by misusing his wealth. Yes, he comes from a wealthy family, which is really a shame. Indeed, Riley and George are dating for real and everytime I see them kissing and snuggling in the cafeteria, it just drives me crazy.

That's just some of the major things. Not all of them.

School has ended already and we are all off for our winter break and we are waiting for our college and university entry results. I'll really miss the company of Blake and Ariel, but I'm sure we will have our little meetups from time to time.

The results are getting released at 6am, and this is the first time I got up an hour early. No, my alarm clock didn't wake me up. I woke myself up. I was way too excited to see which school I got into.

I stare at the time as every second flew by, until the minute hand strikes 12 and the hour hand strikes 6. I dash to my laptop and started it up. While my laptop loads into the website, my heart pumps faster and faster. I really want to get into the same school as Ariel.

I saw my results and my mouth was wide open. My jaw literally dropped. I pinched myself and read the words on the screen, over and over again. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I GOT INTO ONE OF THE BEST SCHOOLS IN STATE!

I speed dialed Ariel's number and crossed my fingers as the call was going through.

"Ariel! Which school did you get into?"

(⚠️ disclaimer: im not very familiar with the colleges in America so im just gonna randomly put a college i know of. ⚠️)

"You will not believe which one I got into. Like you would even think I'm lying."

"I'm going into UCLA!"

"I'm going there too!"

Those words, were like music to my ears. We were going to the same college together. But something sounded a little off from the tone of her voice, although she was happy.

"You don't seem as excited. What's wrong?"

"It's just that...Blake is going to another college."

"Which one?"

"William and Mary."

"But you guys can meet up from time to time, right? And you can do long distance."

"Long distance is not easy as said, Loren. It's really tough. And especially you don't know whether they are hooking up with someone else behind your back. There is just so much trust you have to give and if they break it, it will really hurt."

"Ariel, just don't overthink it. Blake is really invested into the relationship, I doubt he would even find someone better than you. If he does, I'll whack the life out of the both of them."

"Thanks Ariel. Oh, could I come over today? I'll ask Blake and see if he's down as well."

"Sure, my apartment is always welcome for you to visit anytime."
