"yeosang, i'm home!" san yelled as he unlocked the apartment's door. wooyoung widened his eyes at the mention of another person's name, "you didn't tell me you had a roommate!"

san shrugged, "thought you wouldn't mind. hey, yeosang, meet my soulmate!"

wooyoung immediately stiffened at how san addressed him. a boy with black hair and sharp features walked out of a room. the boy smiled softly at wooyoung, "hi, i'm yeosang. i really do apologise for the messiness in our apartment. it's mostly because of san here. what's your name?"

"oh." wooyoung glanced over at san and he moved towards yeosang to shake the oldest's hand, "i'm jung wooyoung."

wooyoung, in all honesty, would rather not tell this 'yeosang' his name, but if he didn't tell yeosang his name, then san would be suspicious of him. and even though wooyoung had convinced himself he won't kill san, it still wouldn't be the best if san was dubious of him.

wooyoung seemed to have noticed a certain uneasiness behind yeosang's eyes when the two shook hands, but it was quickly replaced by a smile that reached up to yeosang's eyes.

"it's really nice to meet you, wooyoung ssi. why are you back so early, san?" yeosang asked.

san placed down the paper bags and rolled his shoulders backwards, "we just came to put down the bags. we're actually heading off to grab some dinner. do you wanna join us?"

yeosang shook his head, "i have a date with jongho."

san shrugged, muttering 'suit yourself' under his breath before disappearing to the toilet. wooyoung and yeosang stood in the middle of the living room awkwardly until wooyoung spoke up.

"so, um, are you like san?" wooyoung asked nervously while scratching the nape of his neck, "i-i didn't mean it as like a bad way."

yeosang chuckled and shook his head, "i get what you mean. no, i'm studying in university of seoul. i'm majoring in law. how about you?"

quick, wooyoung, think!

"oh, i'm a middle school drop out. i work in a flower shop just down in busan. i came up to visit a relative only to find my soulmate." wooyoung chuckled lightly. yeosang hummed and smiled, "it must be nice. owning a flower shop, i mean."

wooyoung nodded, "yeah. it's really nice seeing people coming and going with different stories and messages they want to deliver through flowers. it's really interesting, you know, to know that you are a part of someone's life even if it's just that little bit."

yeosang nodded, "that sounds amazing, wooyoung ssi. well, it's really nice to meet you and i'm afraid i'll be late for my date if i don't leave now. i hope to see you more often." yeosang winked at wooyoung, causing the younger to chuckle lightly. "oh, please remind san to lock the door."

with that, yeosang left the apartment, leaving wooyoung standing in the living room. wooyoung sighed. he's lied so many times about what he does and who he is it just feels natural right now. it's almost like it's his second nature to lie about something about him. it also wasn't like wooyoung could help it. if you manage to expose yourself — anything about yourself — to the public in his line of work, you're just as good as dead already. people will dig you up and kill you because of the things you've done before.

being an assassin wasn't easy, but if that's what wooyoung has to do in order to survive, then he'll do it no matter what. even if he's losing a bit of himself — jung wooyoung as a human — every time he talks about himself in front of targets or even just people.
