"wooyoung, where exactly are we going?" san asked when wooyoung and he were on a train around busan. wooyoung didn't reply and instead laced his fingers with san's fingers.
wooyoung smiled softly, "it's a place that means a lot to me." he glanced up at san and his grip on san's hand, "please just- i don't know why i'm getting emotional over this, i-"
san didn't allow the younger to say anything else. he led wooyoung's head onto his chest and wrapped his arm around wooyoung's waist, "it's okay, darling. you don't have to explain anything to me."
san felt wooyoung nod against his chest and he smiled, threading his fingers through wooyoung's hair softly. wooyoung hummed and smiled as well. there was something special about san, he always knew it. whenever san hugs him or threads his hair softly, wooyoung felt safe and knew that everything would be fine.
the pair of soulmates got off a few stations later. wooyoung started leading san through the exits and into the city, which san gaped and wow-ed at. san had never been in anywhere else than incheon and seoul, which were the busy cities of korea. being in busan, which was more of a scenery type of city, was a brand new experience for san.
all the while san was gaping at how beautiful the city looked, wooyoung was just smiling at how fascinated his boyfriend was at everything. it was really cute, wooyoung has to admit, that san was finding these things amazing. these buildings, these landscapes, these- things wooyoung grew up in; san was finding everything beautiful. it was hard to believe that san found the architecture attractive when wooyoung took it for granted while growing up. he never paused to realise how detailed everything was, and perhaps that's why he ended up being a cold-hearted assassin. san had poured nothing but love and appreciation into him, it somehow had change wooyoung as a person as well.
"we're here, sannie." wooyoung tugged on san's hand as they took a left into a-
a cemetery?
san frowned, "wooyoung-"
wooyoung smiled, "it's my mother's death day. i just wanted to come visit her grave now that i'm in busan. i've- well, i'll sound like a bad son, but i've never came here ever since she died."
"oh, darling." san said, "it's okay. it's completely okay. you didn't even have to explain it to me. we all accept things in different paces. it's okay."
wooyoung sighed and nodded, "well. i just thought that i would be braver when you're here. that's why i brought you here. plus, it'll be nice just for you to at least know my mom a bit."
so the two walked over to kim soojin's grave. and when they got there, wooyoung pulled out a bouquet of flower that he got yesterday from jimin's flower shop. the older boy was still there, working with his soulmate and having the time of his life. it was nice knowing at least one of his few friends was doing well and happy.
"when and where did you get that?" san asked as wooyoung placed the bouquet of coreopsis in front of his mother's grave.
wooyoung shrugged, "yesterday when i went to jimin hyung's flower shop. i'll bring you there right afterwards. he deserves to know who's my soulmate. anyways, well, this is my mom. she would've adored you. honestly. and, well, now that you know i'm an assassin, you should probably know that she was one as well.
"she was the one that taught me how to kill someone and told me that whenever i get scared or frightened, remember that she's always there, holding the gun with me. she was the woman that kept me going for so long, it was so hard to believe that she'd just leave me like that. but, hey. we all have our struggles. you never know what goes on in someone's mind, am i right?" wooyoung let out a light chuckle.
san looked over at the younger boy and frowned, "what are you thinking about right now, hm?"
wooyoung looked over at san as well, laughing only momentarily, "what do you mean? i'm just thinking about you and-"
"wooyoung."
wooyoung kept his mouth shut for a while, trying to search for any type of hint that san might be joking or just making a snarky comment for wooyoung's question. but wooyoung didn't find any. san was serious. wooyoung sighed, "i-i don't know. it just hurts, you know? but fun fact." wooyoung laughed, "she was the reason why i couldn't kill you, why i didn't want to kill you."
san cocked his head to the side, left eyebrow raised and a slight smirk on his face, "why, do i remind you of her?"
wooyoung snickered, slapping san's chest lightly, "no, you jackass. don't think so greatly of yourself. no, she left after my dad cheated on her. and she always told this story of when your soulmate dies or leaves you for long enough, your soul would earn to go on with them. it's the harsh reality of having soulmates."
"so let me get this clear," san said, "you didn't kill me because you thought it'd kill a part of your soul? not because you love me?"
"yeah, pretty much." wooyoung replied. and after seeing san's overdramatic reaction to his answer, he chuckled and shook his head, "maybe also because i love you way too much to kill you."
san smirked and pulled wooyoung closer to him by wooyoung's waist, "i know. i'm too irresistible, am i right?"
wooyoung tapped his chin a couple of times and hummed, "i don't know. i could argue that i'm the irresistible one in the relationship, but you know what? i'll blow your ego this time."
san gasped, "how dare you?"
"just stating the truth here." wooyoung shrugged and glared playfully at san. san rolled his eyes. he leaned down at wooyoung and kept his lips just millimetres away from wooyoung's plump ones.
"i'll kiss you if you admit i'm the irresistible one." san muttered softly, making sure his lips does touch wooyoung's one while he speaks to make it harder to resist.
wooyoung hummed, "what if i don't? will you not kiss me then? i'm sure you can't resist these lips."
"i mean," san said, his eyes flickering down to focus on wooyoung's lips, "they are pretty. and they look better after my kisses. i think i could resist them."
wooyoung glanced up at san as if to challenge the older, "i dare you to."
"on second thought, i lose, you win." with that, san connected his lips with wooyoung's. wooyoung smiled against those lips he adored so much and kept his hands on san's chest.
it could be pretty inappropriate to be kissing in front of someone's grave, especially if that someone is your mom's grave. but the two didn't care. because they were just busy tasting each other, devouring each other like there's no tomorrow. the two were too absorbed in each other that they just didn't give a fuck if anyone walked past the cemetery and judged them for kissing.
because now, they're in their own world. now, they're only with each other. now, they're only themselves; as choi san and jung wooyoung, and not choi san the great thief and jung wooyoung the deadly assassin.
