Of Two Worlds

Finally Home

Sarah looked around and smiled at Clark.
"We're home. Call Bruce."
"I will. For now I just want you." He said holding her close. He lifted into the air and headed toward their apartment. Clark knew he would have to call his mom, and that would be the first person he would call.
Sarah sat on the couch looking at the news, she heard a noise and looked up and answered the door. Bruce smiled and hugged her, happy to see she was alive, he reached out and touched the bandage around her neck.
"Explain later come in." She spoke softly. Bruce looked at her but said nothing as he entered the apartment. Clark came from the bedroom to see Bruce standing in his living room.
"Where the hell have you two been? It's been four months with no sign of you then last night I got a message that someone was in this apartment."
"How did you figure out it was us?"
"I came and checked, saw you both were sleeping so I left."
"Anything catastrophic happen while we were away?"
"No more than normal, we had to double patrols because of your sudden disappearance."
"Sudden is the big word."
"Want to explain that and why Sarah has that bandage?"
"We were taken ended up in an alternate earth. They had a Clark Kent and everything but he was much younger and didn't know half what I can do. But it seems we got sent there by Sarah's family, she was injured three times the final time. The man that claimed to love her at one time slit her throat. Her biological father set me and the other Clark free so we could help her. I burned the wound shut, now we have to wait for it to heal. It's healing slowly but it is healing, her body will heal it."
"So you both barely survived."
"You could say that. Anyone else worry we were gone?"
"They all did and now that I know your both safe, abet slightly worse for wear."
"Pretty much. Let us rest for a few days and see how the healing is going and then I will call and we can gather the others."
"Agreed." He said to him, Bruce looked at Sarah and nodded and turned and left the apartment.
"Its not going to heal in a few days." Sarah said standing. Clark moved over to her and held her close, he looked down into her turquoise eyes and kissed her.
"So it takes a while, they are going to only bug us if we don't show that we are alive and well."
"I know. What if my voice never returns to normal?"
"It will never make me change how I feel about you."
"I love you."
"And I love you too." Clark said holding her close. Sarah leaned against him and sighed happily. Sarah knew they would have meet with the others, they had been gone a long time and they needed to explain why.
"Come on let me make you something to eat and we will watch a movie."
"Sounds good."
