L: Bhaiyya kaha hai aap?
Lakshman was looking for ram it had been 1 year sita had been sent for vanvas, it was rakshabandhan today.
He had seen mandavi-shatrughna and shrutkirti-bharath celebrating despite the pain. He went to Ram's chamber and heard Urmila's cheerful voice and Ram's calm voice.
U: Aa bhaiyya
Urmila went to feed ram and turned her hand to her mouth and ate the laddoo.
R: Urmi!!
Ram started tickling her, as she giggled and laughed. Lakshman remembered his Shanta didi and Sita. Though Shanta was Ram's elder sister they also had fun, she was his partner in crime after shatrughna , how they used to prank ram, and the sisters whenever she visited the palace. Sita, needless to say she was a ideal mother and SIL for him. He wiped away a silvery tear that was swimming in his eye.
R: Aree lakshman tum kab aae? Mujhe bata dete mai aa jata!
L: Nahi.. Wo mujhe.. Ma bula rahi hai
Lakshman stammered, ram made a mental note to talk to him afterwards. Lakshman left the room in a haste.
~Lunch time~
Lakshman had some work so he hadn't had his lunch today, but he had not paid attention to that though his stomach rumbled. He went for lunch almost after everyone had dispersed, only ram and urmila were there.
R: Lakshman tum aaj punah bhojan ko der se aae!
L: Bhaiyya thoda sa kam tha to...
U: Jane dijiye na jijashree, ab bhojan to kar lijiye
R: Han han chalo lakshman!
L: Ji bhaiyya
Lakshman sat beside ram and served himself, and urmila served ram.
R: Bohot acha bhojan banaya hai urmi
U: Dhanyawad jijashree
Lakshman was lost in thoughts he was thinking about his sister Shanta.
R: Lakshman?
L: Hmm? Kya hua bhaiyya?
R: Kya hua?
L: Kuch..kuch nahi mere bhojan ho gaya
Lakshman moved to get up but ram caught hold of his hand.
R: Lakshman? Tumne kheer to khayi bhi nahi, tumhe to kheer bohot pasand hai na
L: Nahi.. mera matlab hai ki mujhe aaj nahi chahie
Lakshman left the lunch area.
R: Lakshman?
U: Jijashree inko kya hua?
R: Pata nahi urmi mai use dekh kar ata hun
Urmila nodded at him, he left to find lakshman.
R: Lakshman! Lakshman!?
Bh: Kya hua bhaiyya?
R: Tumne lakshman ko dekha?
Bh: Haa wo toh...nadi ke kinare gaya hai
R: ohh, acha mai jakar ata hun
Bh: Bhaiyya wo shayad dukhi tha
Ram nodded sadly at him, and left at his and lakshman's spot.
~Lake~
Ram went to the lake and found lakshman sitting on a rock glaring at the lake, tears swimming in his eyes. He went and kept a hand on his shoulder.
R: Lakshman..
Lakshman immediately wiped his tears and looked up.
L: ji...ji bhaiyya?
R: Tumhe kya hua?
L: Kuch nahi bhaiyya.. bas...chodie na meri bat chodie
R: Lakshman tum jante ho na tum mujhse kuch chupa nhi sakte to kyo prayas kar rahe ho?
L: Bhaiyya Shanta didi ki yaad aa rahi hai
R: Hmm
L: Acha chalie na bhaiyya maihel jate hai!
R: lakshman!
L: Kya hua?
R: Tumhe kya hua?!!!
L: Bhaiyya
Lakshman fell on the rock sobbing helplessly, as Ram sat beside his brother moving his hand on Lakshman's back trying to soothe him. Lakshman moved his head to Ram's shoulder trying to snuggle in his embrace, ram embraced him tightly letting him sob.
R: Lakshman kyo itne dukhi ho?
Lakshman's response was to only sob harder finally trembling he spoke.
L: Meri bhul thi!! Sab meri bhul hai!! Maine bhabhi ko van mai choda!
R: Lakshman! Tumhari bhul nahi thi, socho agar ravan ne tumhe kshati pohochai hoti to mai kya karta, na mai kishkindha jaa pata aur na lanka jaa pata!
L: Itni jarurat hai aapko meri?
R: Lakshman! Tum aisa kaise puch sakte ho? Mujhe tumhari jarurat hai!! Aur humesha rahegi! Tum aisa soch bhi kaisa sakte ho!! Agar punah aisa soch na to mai tumhe bohot datunga!!
Ram hugged him tightly as lakshman flung his hands around Ram's back.
L: Ab to maihel chalie...
Ram chuckled hearing this.
~Palace~
Kirti: Lakshman bhaiyy kaha the aap?!!
L: Wo...
R: Hum nadi ke kinare the
L: Haan!
Kirti: Acha wo sab chodie na aaiye mere sath!
Shrutkirti dragged lakshman along with her to the court room.
Kirti: Baithie!
Shrutkirti came with a thali in her hand and rakhi. She tied the rakhi to lakshman, soon Mandavi also came in to the the rakhi to lakshman.
Kirti: Bhaiyya mera taufa!!
L: Um.. paihle mandavi bhabhi ko rakhi bandhane do mai tumhe de deta hun
Kirti: Thik hai bhaiyya!!
Mandavi also tied the rakhi to lakshman.
Kirti: Ab dijiye mera taufa!!
L: Ye lo
Lakshman handed Shrutkirti a red shining Ruby and Mandavi a shining diamond, both worth ten thousand dollars.
M: Dhanyawad bhaiyya!!
Kirti: Ab chalie na bhaiyya bhojan karte hain!
~Lunch area~
L: Kya banaya hai!?!!
S: Aao dekho
L: Maa parosie na!!
R: Nahi! Mai parosunga!!
L: Thik hai bhaiyya
Ram served lakshman the food, as lakshman was going to eat he stopped lakshman and fed him with his own hands.
~Night~
Lakshman entered Ram's chamber, and saw urmila... pressing Ram's feet as he lay down on the bed comfortably.
L: Bhaiyya!!
Urmila jolted, and turned behind.
U: Shh!!
L: Tum yaha kya kar rahi ho!?!!
U: Aap aye nahi to mai bhaiyya ke pair dabane lagi
L: Kyo!
U: Are jaiye na aap!! Aap bhaiyya ki neend kharab kar denge!!
Urmila pushed lakshman out the chamber.
L(to himself) : Usne bhi apna vachan tod diya!! Usne vachan diya tha vo ram bhaiyya aur mere bich nahi ayegi!! Aur ram bhaiyya bhi uske sath so jayenge aaj!! Ab to mai un dono se bat nahi karunga!
That night lakshman slept in his private chamber.
~Next morning~
R: Lakshman? Lakshman!!? Uhh! Bharath tumne lakshman ko dekha?
Bh: Bhaiyya lagta hai wo mandir gaya hai
R: Oh acha mai dekhkar ata hun...
~Temple~
Lakshman was doing vishnu puja, as the pandit instructed him.
L: Dhanyawad pandit ji
Pandit: Koi baat nahi Yuvraj bas aaj ke pashchat purnima tak aap jo bhi bhojan grahan karenge wo bhagwan vishnu ko paihle arpan kar de
L: Ji avashya! Dhanyawad
Lakshman joined his hands as to pay respect and left the temple. He met ram on the way.
R: Are laksh suno na
L: Hm?
R: Mujhe tumhari madad chahie
L: Chalie
R: Laksh?
L: Hmm?
R: Tum theek ho na?
L: Haan, mujhe kya hua? Chahe aap mere sath soye ya na soye
