This chapter presents urmila and Mandavi talk about the sudden changes in their lives, and Mandavi expresses her anger towards lakshman for leaving urmila alone in the palace.

Urmila was in her chamber, 13 years had gone after the trio had left for vanvaas Mandavi had secretly despised lakshman for leaving urmila back in the palace, she finally decided to pour out her emotions and tell it to urmila. Urmila heard a knock on the door and Mandavi came in the chamber.
U: bolo kya hua?
M: Mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai
U: Ha bolo Mandavi
M: Tumhe asu nahi aate?
U: Mai bas apna vachan nibha rahi hun jo maine saumitra ko diya hai
Mandavi's eyes angrily turned towards her.
M: Wo tumhe kaise chod sakta hai urmila!? Kya wo apne pati ka farz bhul gaya hai!
U: Aur Bharath bhaiyya? Unhone tumhe kyo choda?
M: Urmi wo maihel mai nahi raih pate, kya tumhe lagta hai urmi wo raih pate?
U: To waisehi kya saumitra raih pate? Socho agar meri jagah tum hoti to kya karti?
M: Unhe jane deti!
U: To wahi maine kiya aur tum itni krodhit ho? Agar yahi krodh maine Bharath bhaiyya par vyakt kiya hota to?
Mandavi was short of answer urmila was correct in her way and Lakshman was doing his duty, he wasn't going on a pleasure trip to forest it wasn't a cakewalk, lakshman had left her for the better good.
U: Aur Bharath bhaiyya ne tumhe choda hai to uspar mujhe bhi to krish aya tha na tab tumne mujhe samjhaya na to waisehi saumitra ke prati tum krodh chod do.
Mandavi couldn't answer this even Bharath had left her for duties she can't hold the anger for lakshman and protect her husband from Urmila's question, and urmila couldn't stop him from following his husbands duty by forgetting his brother's duty, he had made his points clear about his duties, she couldn't blame him for leaving urmila back in the palace. Just then they heard a knock, and a very disturbed Shrutkirti entered the chamber.
