Chapter 15: Godnapped!! part 3!

Your P.O.V

This morning's breakfast? Live frog...... These spirits no nothing about humans!!!! I miss Tomoe's cooking!

"Uh... Humans don't eat frogs either!" I say to the little spirits.

"Taking care of a human is going to take some getting used to. Since Lady Yonomori only partakes of sake after all." Mizuki says walking in with a tray of dumpling... Thingies... I'm just gonna call them dumplings.

"Which is why, the sake that Master Mizuki makes is unserpassed in all the world!" One of the little spirits say.

I put one of the dumplings in my mouth. Jelly... They were jelly dumplings, and they were pretty good, "Not bad" I say with my mouth full, "And Tomoe's no slouch either you know. His cooking is flawless.... Besides the fact that he keeps putting mushrooms in the food to annoy Nanami on purpose."

Mizuki laughs at my comment, "So, he's a good cook."

"You know Tomoe don't you?"

"Yes, I've known him much longer than you." mischief was seen in eyes and was slighttly freaking me out.

"He is a white fox of lowly origin." The spirits say.

"But this is sure disastrous for him. Again, he's lost the god he serves."

"Again?.... You mean Mikage don't you?"

"Indeed I do."

"Tomoe didn't lose Mikage! Mikage left! for reasons... I... Don't know."

Mizuki laughs again.

'Something isn't right here.... What was it that was wrong with this shrine? Something about it's god...' I think to myself...

I glance over to 'Lady Yonomori's' bedroom. I get up and walk over.

"What are you doing?" Mizuki asks, "No, don't touch Lady Yonomori!!"

Mizuki grabs the collar of my shirt and pulls me back, I grabbed the cover of the god's room and it tore off as Mizuki pulled me back.

"Just as I thought.... Mizuki, Why are you here all alone?" I ask him.

The shrine didn't even have a god. There was no one behind the curtain. Mizuki gives me a blank look, we both sat down and he started making some tea as he explained.

"A long time ago there was a large river here, and a lot of children kept getting swept away." He says, "The villagers feared it was a curse so the built this shrine and that's how this place got started. God's like Lady Yonomori, who came into being because humans needed them, cannot maintain their presence without humans. The humans abondond this land and Lady Yonomori went into hiding. But I promised that I wouldn't abandon it, I will protect Lady Yonomori and this shrine. It's a familiar's duty to do so."

Poor Mizuki, he's been alone all this time serving a god, a lady and mistress who most likely won't return...... Why can't he see that himself though?

"Mizuki? Did it ever occure to you that Lady Yonomori won't come back?"

"You're wrong!" He yells, his fangs noticable and his eyes blazing with fury, "She will come back! There is nothing you can say that will make me leave!"

I lean back a bit, slightly afraid, Mizuki must've noticed because I instantly saw the regret in his eyes, "I'm sorry." He says.

"It's fine." I respond, "You know Mizuki, do you really think Lady Yonomori would want you to stay couped up in this shrine? I mean, as far as I know, you've only been out of the shrine once and that's when you came to my school. If you were my familiar I wouldn't want you to stay here, I'd want you to go out and do things with your life. And possibly be a familiar to a new god."

"You're comforting me?" Mizuki says.

Mizuki suddenly got a strange look in his eyes, I couldn't exactly tell what it was but it was creepin' me out!

"You're so kind Miss (Y/n). Since you are so kind, stay by my side forever. We can stay here, just the two of us."

Mizuki wraps me in a hug and I get tense, "We can stay here forever just enjoying the plum blossoms, together."

I relax and I gently push Mizuki away, "I'm sorry Mizuki. But I can't stay here, there are people waiting for me to come back and they are probably worried sick. I can't just leave them." I say.

"Why? Why won't you choose me?" Mizuki suddenly wraps his arms around me and snuggles his head to my stomach.

I instantly go into chibi mode and push him away, "YOU PERVERTED SLY SERPENT!!!! YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING!!! AND I ACTUALLY BELIEVED YOU!!! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN NOT TO TRUST A SNAKE LIKE YOU!!!" I yell hitting him on the head multiple times with my tiny fists.

"Sorry but, I've changed my mind." He says, not fazed by my hits at all.

"IF YOU EVEN DARE TO TOUCH ME I WILL HAVE TOMOE SKIN YOU ALIVE IN YOUR SNAKE FORM!!! THEN I'LL HAVE HIM HANG YOU ON THE WALL AS A WARNING TO ALL YOKAI!!!"

"Tomoe. Isn't. Here." He says.

The next thing I know, I'm pinned down practically screaming in my mind 'TOMOE!!! NANAMI!! FREAKIN' ALEX GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE NOW!!!!'

I hear the door break down and I'm practically jumping for joy, "GET YOUR SLIMY SERPENT HANDS OFF OF MY FRIEND!!!!!" The voice that yelled obviously wasn't Tomoe, and it wasn't Nanami either.... No freakin' way.... ALEX?! I thought she was with Mikage?!.... Then again.... Not even a god like Mikage could stop a raging Alex, it's physically impossible, literally.

"ALEEEEX KICK!!!!" She kicks Mizuki in the head, sending him flying into the wall. And if you were guessing, yes she got her 'Alex kick' from Lucy of Fairy Tail's 'Lucy kick'...... She also has a 'Alex CHOP'.... Yes, she got that one from Maka of soul eater. Back to the present!!!

"IF YOU TOUCH HER AGAIN I WILL SKIN YOU ALIVE, SNAKE FORM OR NOT!!!!"

I look to the, now destroyed, doorway. There stood Tomoe with a, totally hilarious, 'WTH just happened?' look on his face as well as Nanami, who was standing right next to him. I so wish I had my camera right now! XD

"Alex!" I yell.

She turns and looks at me, she instantly broke into a grin, "(Y/N)!!!!" she yells.

She suddenly starts glowing a light blue and she disappears.... 'DAMN YOU MIKAGE FOR TAKING MY FRIEND!!!!' I mentally yell. 'SERIOUSLY!!! THE FIRST TIME I GET TO SEE HER SINCE I GOT TO THIS CRAZY PLACE AND YOU TAKE HER AWAY 10 SECONDS AFTER I SEE HER!!! THATS JUST NOT RIGHT!!!'

"(Y/n)!" Tomoe snaps me out of my thoughts.

I look towards him and the next thing I knew, I was engulfed in a hug, slight blush on my cheeks a and obvious surprise on my face.

"Thank goodness you're alright." he says with a sigh.

"(Y/n)!!" Nanami yells then gives me a great big hug, nearly squeezing me to death, "I was so worried!!! I didn't know what that snake had done to you, as soon Tomoe found your location I came with and then that girl appeared out of nowhere and- and-!!!! IM SO HAPPY YOUR SAFE!!!" She was now crying a waterfall in chibi mode.

"Nanami! Can't.... Breath... World going.... Dark." I choke out.

Nanami let's me go, that's when I realized that the whole place was on fire, and I'll admit, I'm slightly afraid of Tomoe's fire after last times 'incident'.

"Tomoe!" I yell, but he was nowhere to be found.

'The plum tree!!' I instantly ran out to the front, seeing Tomoe about to burn Mizuki and the tree to a crisp, "Tomoe stop! That's enough!" I yell.

He instantly stops and looks at me expectantly, "put out the fire... Now." I say sternly.

He looks at me surprised but does as he's told, I walk over to Mizuki and kneel down to his height, "Mizuki? I'm leaving now ok? I get that it can be pretty lonely here, so when you get lonely, I'll come to visit." I say.

I cup my hands together and a small cloud of multicolored sparkles form, I toss them up to the tree and all the blossoms bloom. I was starting to get the hang of this whole 'divine power' thing.

I put a hand on Mizuki's head before leaving with Tomoe and Nanami in the shadow cart thingie majig.
