~ Tomoe ~ Daycare ~ @Only_demons_know ~

Tomoe sat at the miniature desk in a miniature chair in annoyance. His ears twitched, though they weren't supposed to be out. He was at a little orphanage, only because Nanami forced him to come. Apparently she would visit here often and help out with the children, the little kids surrounded her, laughing and looking at her with happiness, so glad that she came to visit. The ages of the kids around her varied from, 3 to 9 years old,  the kids older than 9 were helping Nanami out and all the kids younger than 3 were asleep in the nursery.

While Nanami played happily with the kids, Tomoe caught movement in the corner of his eye. He turned his head to find a little girl around the age of 5 peeking her head around a corner, looking at him with curious eyes. If he had to guess, he would say that the girl barely reached his knees in height. She had (s/c) skin, vibrant (h/c) hair, plump (l/c) lips, and what intrigued Tomoe the most were her big puppy dog like eyes. Her left eye was (e/c) but her right eye was a beautiful and bright silver.

Tomoe's tail swished back and forward and his ears twitched as he starred right back at the little girl. She blinked a few times, and to Tomoe it felt like they had been starring at each other for hours when it had only been 2 minutes.

He held out his hand, as a gesture for her to come, a look of small surprise and slight shyness washed over her face. She took a few hesitant steps and slowly reached out her hand, still wary of the yokai. She then gently wrapped her hand around one off Tomoe's fingers, her hand being so small. She looked up from his face to his ears on top of his head, he noticed and leaned down a little so she could have a better view of them. She carefully put a hand to one of the white fluffy ears, making them twitch even more, she slightly smiled and petted them with a little more courage.

Tomoe couldn't help but smirk at her curiosity, "what is your name?" He asks.

She looks at him, surprised at first, "(y-y/n)" she answers in a soft and quiet voice, "what is yours?" she asks.

"Tomoe." he replies.

"Are you a, Yokai?"

Tomoe raises his eyebrows in surprise, "Yes... I am." he says.

What he expected next was her to run away scared of him. To tell the other kids and the lady who ran the orphanage so they would kick him out. But instead, she smiled a bit wider and put a finger to her lips, signaling she wouldn't tell. She crawled up onto his lap and played with his ears a bit more, "I wish I had ears." She says.

Of course Tomoe knew what she meant, but he decided to play with her and lightly mess with her ears on the sides of her head, "You have ears, see?" he says.

She giggles at him, she cups her hands and puts them on top of her head, resembling the ears on his head, " I want ears like yours!" she says.

Tomoe chuckled at her, she really was adorable. She sat in his lap and snuggled up to his chest, much to his surprise, then she slowly dozed off right there. Tomoe smiled and wrapped an arm around her, Nanami walked over and instantly noticed (y/n), she smiled at the sight. "Tomoe, it's time to go." she whispers.

Tomoe frowns, he didn't want to leave so soon, he had taken a liking to the little girl. But, he had to obey his lady and mistress, so he stood up, carrying the little girl, and followed Nanami to (y/n)'s room. It was a shared room with 5 other beds in it, Tomoe set (y/n) down on the nearest bed and covered her with the sheets.

The next time he and Nanami visited, Tomoe brought a headband with fluffy white cat ears attached, he put the headband on (y/n)'s head and she instantly smiled and started laughing and acting like a little cat.

Every time Nanami went to the orphanage Tomoe would accompany her, just so he could see (y/n). Years flew by and (y/n) was never adopted, she was now 10 and not many people would adopt older kids. So Nanami, now being 20, adopted her and took her to the shrine. (Y/n) didn't seem to care that it was a shrine, She was just glad to have a family. Mizuki instantly took a liking to her, she would call him her big brother, one time Kurama showed up at the shrine and (y/n) was a bit wary of him at first, but it didn't take long for her to warm up to him. She was very fascinated with Kurama's wings, as well as Mizuki's eyes because she had never seen someone with wings or eyes like his. (Y/n) made the shrine even brighter and warmer than before, she would help Mizuki and Tomoe with the chores around the shrine no matter what they said, she got taught how to cook by Tomoe, She was taught how to make sake by Mizuki even though she couldn't drink any yet, she even stared in a few of Kurama's music videos, she would always be a pure white angel. Apparently she was a really good singer as well, so her and Kurama would do a duet every now and then, and though she wasn't a god, she'd help Nanami grant wishes as best as she could.

Now she was 17, Nanami was 27 and still the land God. Today was her birthday, they all planned a surprise party for her. The plan was that she would go with Kurama to shoot for another video, while the others would stay at the shrine and prepare.

After the shooting, (y/n) and Kurama walked back to the shrine. As soon as (y/n) opened the door she got the shock of her life, it was the best birthday She had ever had.

Later, Tomoe asked her to come to the front of the shrine, the moon was full and bright and stars shone in the sky.

"Hey, Tomoe! What is i-" she was caught off guard when Tomoe suddenly smashed his lips against hers.

The silly thing was, (y/n)'s birthday was on the exact same day as Valentine's.... Best birthday and Valentine's day ever....
