Chapter 6: The nightmares return

Third person's P.O.V

Tomoe was now Nanami's and (Y/n)'s familiar. Nanami slept soundly while Tomoe and (Y/n) were still up, Tomoe was tending to (Y/n)'s hands that he had burned. Tomoe's eyebrows furrowed in concern and concentration as he unwrapped (Y/n)'s blood stained bandages from her hands, her hand's skin was torn badly, they were red both from the blood and the burns but at the same time they were pale from blood loss. Tomoe took a damp rag and gently tried to clean the blood off, (Y/n) hisses in pain and pulls her hands up to her chest, "That hurts!" she says.

Tomoe sighs and as gently as possible, he took her hands and began to work again, "it's not even the cuts that hurt as much." (y/n) says.

"They just.... Burn.... They've been throbbing all the time.... And they feel hot...."

Tomoe looks up at her, "Just as I thought." he says. Tomoe then brings (y/n)'s right hand up to his lips, "What are you-?" (Y/n) asks and tries to pull her hand back, but Tomoe grabs her wrist and makes her stay in place, "Hold still." He says.

Tomoe's lips felt cold on the back of her hand, it felt nice considering her hands were always so hot, (y/n) suddenly felt as though ice cold water had flooded her hands veins. It felt so much better, now the only thing that hurt was the large rip in her skin on her palm. Tomoe does the same thing to her left hand and the same thing happens, "How does that feel?" Tomoe asks.

(Y/n) looks up at him wide eyed, "It... Feels better... They aren't throbbing anymore, they don't burn.... How did you-?"

"My fox fire continues to burn any living thing it touches even though it physically has been put out. Now all that's left is to let the cuts heal." Tomoe explains.

(Y/n) winces from the damp cloth that still hurt her hands, soon enough the cuts were clean and there was no more blood staining her hands. Tomoe wraps brand new bandages around her hands then puts all the medical supplies away, "Thank you." (y/n) says.

Without speaking another word, the two split ways, (y/n) went to her room and Tomoe went to his. (Y/n) put her head down on her comfortable pillow and covered up with the blankets, she looked at her hands all bandaged up like a mummy and sighed. Soon enough, sleep welcomes her.....

Your P.O.V

it's dark..... Why is it so dark?.... I feel so warm... Where is Nanami? Where is Tomoe?...... Was it all just a dream?.... Is this a dream?

The shrine suddenly appears in front of me, the skies were gray and rainy, the shrine looked dark, and I had a bad feeling about this. I carefully walked to the shrine, I slid open the doors and went inside. It was pitch black and I couldn't see a thing, I walked in a little ways with my hands out in front of me to feel any furniture in my way. The door suddenly slides closed making me jump,and leaving me in total darkness.

I heard faint footsteps getting closer to me, "hello? Is anyone there?" I say.
Lanterns suddenly lit up the room, I nearly screamed at what I saw. Nanami was dead on the floor and burning in Fox fire, Tomoe..... Tomoe.... His white hair was long and his eyes were thin slits. I covered my mouth to prevent myself from screaming, I backed up till I hit the wall and slid down to the floor.
Tomoe smiled cruelly and walked up to me.... 'Im scared.... That man is going to kill me...'

Tomoe kneels down to my height, he reaches out a hand and I flinch as he caressed my cheek. "I'm not going to kill you (y/n)." He says.

"After all.... I am your familiar."

My eyes grew wide in terror, "No..." I say in a hushed voice, "No.... You're not my Tomoe.... You're not my familiar."

"How long do you think he will be able to keep up the goody goody act?"

"What?"

Tomoe smirks and laughs, "Honestly, I don't think he'll last very long.. You are quite addicting."

Tomeo grabs my chin and leans forward, my heart is pounding like a drum.... Our lips were centimeters apart, I closed my eyes tightly, but nothing happended......... I slowly opened my eyes, Tomoe let go of my chin and leaned back. He put a finger to his lips, "No... It's not quite time for that yet.... Try to remember (y/n), your burnt hands are nothing compared to what he.... I.... Can really do to you..... I am no different from your Tomoe... He will do the same thing to you... Eventually.."

..... No.... I don't believe him... Tomoe wouldn't do this to me....

"Now (y/n)....... Wake up."

3rd person's P.O.V

Tomoe decided to peek inside Nanami's and (y/n)'s room, it was dark and late but he was able to see Nanami sleeping soundly, but when he looked at (y/n)..... She had a look of fear on her face, her breathing was shallow and uneven, she appeared to be having a nightmare. Tomoe walked to her bedside and put a hand on her cheek, her skin was ice cold.

"T-Tomoe...." She suddenly said. She was talking in her sleep....

"Tomoe... Wouldn't do this... to.. me.."

Tomoe's eyes widened in surprise, why was she dreaming about him?... No, clearly she was having a nightmare.... Tomoe put a hand on her forehead and went inside her mind. He saw the seen play out and he couldn't believe what he was seeing...... HE was her nightmare..... But why?......

(Y/n)'s eyes suddenly flew open as she sat up. As soon as she saw Tomoe she held her breath, he looked at her with concerned eyes and slowly reached out a hand. (Y/n) flinched back as Tomoe caressed her cheek, "It's ok (y/n)." He says......
