Apologies for not posting for the last 3 years. Got busy with stuff. This was a draft that I started way back then but just finished now. If I find time, I might continue writing. Either way, we back (for now).A couple of hours later
Hinata's POV
I was in a room, and the only thing I could see was a mysterious person with white hair. He turned around, and I noticed he was hissing. "I don't care whether he loves you or not," he hissed at me repeatedly. I asked him who he was, but he just said the same thing every time: "I will get you." Then I saw him take out a gun, and then I woke up, a little shook.
I was still on Naruto-kun's chest, and we were still in his apartment room. He was waking up, and his eyes fell on me. "H-hinata," he said, a little sleepily, but a smile on his face. "N-naruto-kun," I said, the words of that mysterious man from my dream reverberating in my head. "I will get you." What does that even mean? I tried putting my mind off of that for now, and I gave my attention back to Naruto-kun. "You look a little worried about something," Naruto-kun remarked. "O-oh, it's nothing," I said, a little nervously. He seemed a little skeptical, but then he just nodded his head and said, "Ok. But if anything ever bothers you, please tell me, so that we can solve it, together." I nodded, and we both leaned in, and felt our lips touch.
Naruto's POV
As our lips left each other's, I still felt a little bit of anxiety radiating from her, so I sought to end that. "Hey, how about we go outside, or something like that?" I asked. She thought about it for a moment, then looked at me and said, "Ok."
"Great. Uh, let's get ready, then we can head out. I know a place," I said. I felt a little excited, and I could feel the same from Hinata.
After we both finished getting ready, I got my ball, and we set out. We eventually made it to the park and basketball court where I've always, and sometimes still, play ball. I told Hinata all about it, and about the times I used to get beat by Sasuke when we played 1-on-1.
After we made it, I asked Hinata where she wanted to go first. She took one look at the swings, and her face brightened immediately. "Let's go to the swings!" she said, clearly excited. I smiled, and we made our way over there. "Let's see who can jump the farthest," I said, and a little smile appeared on Hinata's face.
We both got on, and we swung our feet. After a while, it started to feel like we were little kids; just playing around, having fun, with the occasional kiss mixed in there. As we kept on playing, I continually felt that feeling again, of almost pure happiness. I looked at Hinata, and she seemed to forget whatever was keeping her anxious and looked happy, which made my heart tingle, which felt weird but good at the same time. I kept wondering to myself, do I love her? Is this weird feeling I feel love? My mind was spinning, but I stopped thinking about that, and went back to being with Hinata.
We spent the rest of the day together, whether it was playing basketball, going out for ice cream, or just sitting on the bench. I've never felt happier in my life, and that feeling was there the whole time. I managed to convince myself that I actually loved her, and I tried to muster up the courage to tell her that. I couldn't do it though. I don't know why, but I just couldn't say anything. It was like something was holding me back.
After we got home, I had to say goodbye to Hinata, against my will. I wanted to be with her longer, and I felt kinda sad. As I left her room and made my way to my room, I felt an emptiness seep in, and I wanted to just be with her. I trudged up to my room and got ready for work.
That Wednesday
As I was walking home, I received a call from Sasuke. He hadn't shown up all week for school, as he was in the hospital.
"What's up, Duck Butt?" I was curious as to what he was about to tell me.
"I tore my ACL, Dobe," he told me, without any emotion in his voice.
I was taken aback, and struggling to find words. "S-so you're not gonna play?"
"No, I will not."
"So I'll have to pick up the slack, huh."
"Yes, you will."
"And I'll do it, Duck Butt."
"Well, it's a good thing that you have confidence in yourself, because no one else does."
"WHY YOU-" I was interrupted by the sound of the phone hanging up. I thought about what he said for a moment, and my fists started to ball up. Sasuke was right. No one else has confidence in me. Hell, I don't think anyone even knows my name. I'll have to change that. I've worked too hard on this game to become a nobody. I WILL win this game. For Sasuke.
